Quotemikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC to me. The $10 throw away when the battery fails kind I wear in the shower, while swimming, golfing, sleeping, etc. The fancy presentation watch I wear maybe 4 times a year and have spent over twice what it would new cost today in repairs just for the sentimental value. Reminds me of cars I've owned, though not my Boxsters. that's the problem, mike. why keep aby frogster - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Quotefrogster i've had mine for almost 20 years. still waiting to go to the moon. QuoteSteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) I've been doing some research before buying a new Speedmaster. Actually, they added "Professional" in 1965 after the watch was used during EVA and before the moon landing. That was the big breakthrough as far as I was concerned. My 1965 version indeed has the "Professional" on its face. oops, my memory was a little off. i thought it was the moon landby frogster - Main Forum
QuoteJackintheBoxster…the Omega Speedmaster Pro, which was the watch they wore when they faked the Moon landing. from a technical (and very pedantic) standpoint, the astronauts weren't wearing speedmaster professionals when they landed on the moon as the watch was only called speedmaster at that time. Omega added professional after they had learned that the speedmaster had been worn on the moby frogster - Main Forum
pedro, believe me, i've toyed with the idea but it's just not going to happen. i barely put on 2k miles/year here. i live downtown and walk or use public transport nearly everywhere. traffic is terrible in the city. if i were to do it, it would be much more reasonable to just buy a used 986. insurance would still be a lot as here they don't have the low mileage policy that you're talking about. +by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteHarvey in FL Glad to see you back to the forum. thanks. i thought it was time that i dropped by for a visit. nice to see so many familiar "faces" (handles) still around! plus, i was just in time to catch the old "more downforce/less lift" and "crow's foot on a torque wrench" arguments!!!by frogster - Main Forum

when i moved here, i gave my swiss registration papers to the border services agency so that just in case i wanted to bring my boxster over, i could do so tax free (it would have been included in my original allowance when moving over here.) the boxster will be 15 years old (from date of manufacture, not first registration) next spring some time. last year when i was in switzerland, i visited myby frogster - Main Forum

QuotePedro (Weston, FL) ... an RFID key only. They use a rolling code algorithm that is programmed for the car, AFAIK. No mechanical tumblers like the archaic 986s and 987s Happy Boxstering, Pedro no tumbler? what's this "hidden lock" i keep hearing about? is there also no transmitter? you don't press a button to send a radio signal to open the car? the rolling code algorithm you mention can'by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteJoanne in OC I asked about getting a key from another dealer. I was then informed they can't keep any keys because the keys are programmed specifically for the car in Germany and no one else can do it. This just seems really strange. If this is the case, I don't like the it and would prefer the old fashioned key ..... I've now had my car 3 weeks today and no spare key. i am suspicious oby frogster - Main Forum
good point, Laz. the radical is production and street legal so it seems to qualify. I wonder what technicality Porsche uses to support its claim. fastest lap by a car from a big company with lots of models? fastest lap by a car that costs nearly a million bucks? i'm going to have to find this out.by frogster - Main Forum
posted today on youtube. apparently the fastest lap for any production car ever. turn up the volume and set it to full screen.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteJoanne in OC I'm surprised you don't have your Boxster anymore I can understand, but with not having one for 10 months, I really missed it, even a 10 min drive would have helped. Maybe one day you'll be back in one, when the time is right. oh believe me, i would have brought it and my X5 with me to canada if i could have but the rules are completely idiotic here. i couldn't bring itby frogster - Main Forum
