Sounds like a good deal for halogens from AL (an OEM supplier). I sold my old ones on eBay, and used to proceeds towards a new pair made by Magneti Marelli (an OEM supplier) at a similar price. I also spend like $50 on UV resistant clear film from Lamin-x for some protection. Still looking good a few years later.by grc0456 - Main Forum

There's a stereo in my car? I haven't found it yet. Gonna have to check the manual.by grc0456 - Main Forum
I know Scott and Ron must have agonized over this decision, especially with BRBS being over two months away, but it was the right thing to do. I would have loved a Fall BRBS, but I look forward to seeing all my Boxster-loving friends in GA next year.by grc0456 - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Second those thoughts. It's a great time to self-isolate in our cars out on a twisty road - and gas is getting cheaper by the day. Plus, washing your car by hand also disinfects your hands!by grc0456 - Main Forum
Bummer, JG. Happened to me a few years ago on the Diamondback, when I invited friends to come to BRBS in Little Switzerland and had raved to them about the loop. We even stopped for a while to let the bikers get further in front, but of course caught right up to them! Video is here, with me in front. Lots of wind noise.by grc0456 - Main Forum
I need to drive the Cherahola when it gets warmer - maybe a BRBS Fun Run?by grc0456 - Main Forum

So, where are the pics of your refreshed beauty??? I'm in Boston, and second Mike's Auto Body as the best place around to bring your P-car (or other high-end car) for body work. Mike has replayed both my front and rear bumper covers with fantastic results. Mike takes the time to talk you personally about your car and your objectives. Next up, maybe a wheel re-spray? I've not used UCC (I likeby grc0456 - Main Forum
Nice. I like the 968 in Coupe form. Now, we need him to get a Boxster.by grc0456 - Main Forum

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Boxster-loving friends. May your holiday be filled with good food, family, and a little after dinner drive, if possible!by grc0456 - Main Forum
If you live in a place where you drive the car in colder weather, you need a functioning heater. I had experienced the black/grey foam storms, and the lack of real heat. Like Pedro says, the issue comes from the mixer door that is meant to control the blend of heated and unheated air. The door itself has large holes - for reasons not entirely clear to me - that are covered by the offending foaby grc0456 - Main Forum
That's what I roll with for my cold weather tires. Good blend of performance and price.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Directly onto the key hole. Insert and remove key a few times to work it in. After a short wait to let the D5 cleaner dry, then spray the S5 shield and repeat with key. If you don't get the clunk when removing the key after this, it sounds like you will need to replace the switch.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Thank you to all veterans - to those that serve and those that have served.by grc0456 - Main Forum
I make it a point to regularly (a few times a year) to clean my ignition switch with DeoxIT D5 Cleaner to clean the electrical contacts, followed by a spray of DeoxIT S5 Sheid which lubricates the mechanical part and protects the contacts. I think switch in my '03 is original (Pedro would know) and every time I remove the key I get that satisfying "clunk." Give it a try.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Not an apple to apples comparison the the stock Taycan. I'm fairly confident that is Porsche decided to strip it down and prepare a dedicated track version, it would make it around the ring quite a bit faster. It would be interesting to see a stock Tesla's time, though.by grc0456 - Main Forum
In Boston, I run 17" Continental ExtremeContact DWS - 205/50 front and 255/40 rear - for winter driving from mid-Oct. to May 1st. They are Ultra High Performance All Season tires per Tire Rack's categorization. It is unsafe to use summer tires in temps below 45F or so, as they get too hard. My old Box is no garage queen, and I will drive it in winter as long as there is no snow or salt present.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Never mind. It was just a fuse (in the C3 position). I should have known to check the simplest thing first, but I've read so much about CLU and microswitch problems that I went right to that. Embarrassed, but sorted!by grc0456 - Main Forum
I'm having an issue with my 2003. Just today, I seem to have a problem with my central locking. When trying to lock or unlock from the key fob, I get two quick beeps and the doors neither lock or unlock. The car will lock and unlock by manually using the key in the driver's door. The central locking button on the dash does not work to lock or unlock. The windows do drop 1/4" when opening the doorby grc0456 - Main Forum
Good idea. I can identify. My wife has a silver Honda CRV. Seems sometimes the lots are half full of them. One time, I was sitting in the car waiting for her, when a woman came up and opened the passenger door and started to get in. Imagine her surprise seeing me in there!by grc0456 - Main Forum
