Porsche's been teasing the availability of a PDK gearbox in the 718 Cayman GT4 for at least five years. In 2015, the honcho in charge of GT car development, Andreas Preuninger, told a Planet-9 forum member the next-gen Cayman GT4 would add the dual-clutch transmission to the options sheet. We heard the update again in 2017, once more in 2018 when the 718 Boxster Spyder was included in the news, aby Gary in SoFL - Main Forum
According to EVO, 6 Feb 2020: Porsche has confirmed that our 2019 evo Car of the Year winner, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, and the 718 Spyder will be offered with the dual-clutch PDK gearbox by the end of 2020. This is the first time Porsche’s mid-engined GT4 and Spyder models have been offered with an automatic transmission and it should widen their appeal beyond that of the standard six-speby Gary in SoFL - Main Forum

I have it from an impeccable source, Pedro. The cleaning lady for PCNA up in Canada read it in their 2020 Order Guide, not out in the USA yet. As you said, we never know for sure with Porsche. They may dilly-dally until the GTS is a 2021, but I think (hope) it’s true, AND that it’s announced before I have to lock in (V200) my GT4 order.by Gary in SoFL - Main Forum

When your product has a strong identity, one of the things you worry about most is someone usurping your position. So if you happen to run, say, Audi, you worry about the likes of BMW and Lexus. And, perhaps, a little less about Cadillac and Chevy. Sometimes, though, you lose. In such times, you try and find out what sparkly brand has suddenly attracted the attention of your now former customby Gary in SoFL - Main Forum
