Oh and Welcome to the board! Are you Rangers fan or Celtic?...or Hearts and Hibs?by newt - Main Forum
Getting the roll bar pads off and back on is easy. There are 3 holes on each of the hoop pads, and 2 (i think) on the center pad. I use a flat bladed screwdriver which I cover in electrical tape to prevent scratching the pain. Insert the screwdriver between the pad and the roll bar and pry the pad away. It helps to start at one end or the other (not in the middle of the pad) and pop the pad out oby newt - Main Forum

What I like about my Boxster? When I was 14 (I'm 56 now) I heard about the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving and I badly wanted to do something like that. In my Boxster, I CAN! This is one of my favorite pics from my first DE seven years ago....near the top of the Climbing Esses at VIR....What a hoot!by newt - Main Forum
It doesn't make sense to me to do that, but I'm no expert. BTW: I also have a 2001 986 S with about the same mileage....we need to drive more!by newt - Main Forum
I know there are quite a few Northern VA people on here, anyone doing the 2 day DE at Summit Point this weekend (April 3-4)?by newt - Main Forum
Guenter I thought the same thing about the headlights....It DOES look quite a bit like the Aerovette, especially the rear of the car. It will be interesting to see how it plays out and what the final car will look like.by newt - Main Forum
I am interested in your thoughts about the improvements over 12 yearsby newt - Main Forum
I like the sound of that one in the video. Just the right amount of sound for me. I would like to hear it in person first to believe the "no droning" claim. Also, the HP gains...well, that has been much discussed. I just ordered Fabspeed secondary cat delete pipe and should have it on in a week or so.....can't wait to hear it!by newt - Main Forum
That is interesting Tony. My reason for wanting them was to allow a little more sound which deleting the 2nd Cat will allow do based on my research. The 25 pound weight drop is another benefit. I expect the power gains to be negligible. I am not deleting the Pre-Cat (I think that would be illegal on the street) but was not aware of the heat issue. We do not have smog inspection here in Virginiaby newt - Main Forum
After further review, I realized it was unreasonable to expect people to open the link just to see so I'm making it easier. If you tried these, did you like them? did they fit?by newt - Main Forum
They are a couple hundred dollars cheaper than Fabspeed Secondary Cat bypass pipes. They don't look as well put together but if they fit right it doesn't matter. As far as I can tell from the pic, the pipe diameter appears the same but I can't find a spec. Has anyone tried these?by newt - Main Forum
Jimin: did you have any trouble with Check Engine Light?by newt - Main Forum
Or you could make it sound like an F1 engine for about $1.50......by newt - Main Forum
Pedro: Are you still happy with the Pedro Sport Exhaust as the best solution? I remember your saying that next time you would use a larger pipe size. Is there a loss of power with this exhaust? What if the ECU was remapped to accommodate the reduced back pressure? If I keep my Boxster I may do the Techno Power (intake) improvement, and the PSE at the same time if the exhaust flow should be consiby newt - Main Forum
Less unsprung weight may mean even better performance. Although not exactly new, they may be refined. Interesting.by newt - Main Forum

the only way I can do it is to lay on my back with my head near the LR fender area (with LR wheel off) , laying at a 45% degree angle with feet somewhere around passenger door threshold area, using left hand I can work it up there but it is a B*%#@ to do. Maybe it would help if I had a lift instead of jack stands. I usually use a open end wrench but perhaps a 11mm box end wrench would help, you sby newt - Main Forum
