If you want to spend the money, get an dial guage, but you are gonna pay for accuracy, and you will need to be careful with it to not knock it out of spec. I have 2 digital pressure guages I got at sears, and they will replace them with new calibrated digital ones when the batteries die. Both of them are pretty close, a couple tenths between them, and get pretty consistent results. Unless You areby 986rgt - Main Forum
What would make a metal on metal sound almost like a stone caught in-between the rotor and the dust shield on a right side Beale? I believe it is coming from the right rear. Last year I rebuilt the right front caliper as I thought the noise was coming from there. The noise is intermittent, so it would not be worth booking shop time as I know it would not show itself when I wanted it to. The sounby 986rgt - Main Forum

First one could be front motor mount, second? You will have to look under the car, could be cv boot, could be RMS. You'll have to get the car up and take a look around, if RMS, you'll have a drip of oil on the motor-transmition connection on the bell housing. Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum

Now how's about this for utility, I got some strange looks at Lowes the other day heading for the Boxster with: 2 bags of seed, 1 bag of fertilizer, 1 gallon of herbicide, 1 bag of anti-ant stuff, a 5 gallon pale of patio sand, some other odds and ends, and a big pitch fork(went in the passenger seat)! Gotta love the practicallity of these cars. Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Your Porshc edealer should be able to access the computer and see if the car was driven and see over revs and such. Not sure, but it may have sme way of determining date etc. Good luck anyway Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Thanks for the compliments guys! Clif, Homebrews would be ready if there was a TSBL in the future, but I fear there will not be one till the fall... Will have to try to get everyone together for another fun run up to Cold Creek for brunch at the Hudson House again, that was a good day. Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum

Our new daughter Lily is doing great, so is her momma and the rest of the family. I sure hope she gets as big of a kick out of the car as my son Noah (3 next month) does. I guess I will either have to put up with arguing over who gets to ride in daddy's Porsche, or expand and get me a 911 or panamera! my son Noah enjoying a ride... From what I was told by my dealer in 99 when I spec'd my car; "the litronics require you to order the headlight washer option because they are like film projectors, if you get a bug squished on the headlight, you will get a dark spot in the headlight range." To me, it sounds like Porsche was just trying to drive up the price of options by tying them together as "required". I went with halogens anby 986rgt - Main Forum
