there is the LN kit and a "soon to be available" Pelican kit. Each are available for the early single and double row bearing. There is no Pelican version for the last version of the IMS which does require the removal of the engine and "splitting" of the case and shipping the IMS shaft to LN. I don't know of any other option for the latest IMS design. I don't know of any replacement kits availaby mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum

means 1200 miles you'll run the tires before you get back to your local dealer. And probably a week of running in who know what weather. And much of that you'll want to be running at speed. I'd presume you asked the question because you weren't confident in what you were driving and would feel better changing to something newer with a deeper tread. my thanks and to hope I have helped some and offended few is a good feeling. So I get off the golf course today after an atrocious round and Jeff calls from up the street and can he bring his '01 Carrera over and can I read his codes. 20 minutes later he has his codes, the factory problem solving flow chart and a recommended source of parts. Took it to Raleigh the other day. Wife along. Made comment that her arthritis made it really more uncomfortable to get in much less sit in it. I had been thinking for the last year that I was using it so little than I really should sell it. Placed a simple ad on Craigslist. No pictures. True description. Fair price...not the best not the worst. '01S 60k miles Two calls both guys trying to workby mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
1. Lock the center armrest and see what happens. 2. The central locking system has several options that are set via a PST2/PWIS and one is to lock the doors automatically when the car is going 5MPH. When mine lock due to that setting, the red light goes on on the locking dash button. There are 4 optional setting covered in the owner's manual around page 21.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
How long did you drive the car with the 125.00 MAF? Wondering if the car is new to you and someone threw in a MAF just to get it sold and it wasn't the right MAF for the mapping in the ECU. Could happen but not likely if the car has any history of running right with the 125.00 MAF in it.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
and results in only about a third (3.5) of the fluid being replaced. So you are restoring additives, reducing some of the particulates, but not putting a shock to the system like you would if the tranny was given a complete flush (9). I did mine at 42k. From a financial standpoint, spending $2.5k to $3.8k on a car that then only needs its PS fluid flushed and nothing else is the right move. The dealer said Acura would cover 20% but that didn't make sense emotionally (and cost Acura a new car sale). But when your wife says she doesn't want to ever drive the car again and she just accompanied you to your high school reunion on her birthday and yoby mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
So I'm finally persuaded to go to my 50th high school reunion. decide to take the car that is most comfortable to my long suffering wife since she is accompanying me to meet a bunch of folk she doesn't know. by any significant amount over that you are frothing the oil and building up too much crankcase pressure. Much better to be one bar or even two too low and gradually work up. I'll be honest, I check the automated level gauge maybe once every 6 months. Car doesn't burn oil ever and I do watch for drips. And when I want to check, I use the dipstick. Old school. Or just old.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
I'd rather face the challenge of that long dipstick and reading it in bad light than trust a sensor. Made my living too long at the intersection of hardware and software to totally trust computers.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
How much to pour into repairs, when to call it quits. But figure the depreciation on a new mini versus on your car that you still enjoy and the calculations may change. I believe in pulling the trigger when circumstances change or it stops being fun. Mini's are a unique enough car I notice them and I've noticed them turning up on the used car lots in town in the last few months. Guess they are no longer the "in" thing.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
I put it in between the plastic window folds figuring that if it were to be on the other side of the window (between canvas and clear plastic), there would be two of them. Plus the outside of the window is what picks up grime and dirt particles which is what you don't want trapped between the clear plastic and rubbing against each other. It was a seldom used low mileage car still on it's first set of brake pads. I'm convinced from personal experience.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
Your first aim should be to maintain the warranty so I'd ask the service manager to stamp the book that the 12k was done since he is doing the brake and oil change. A good inspection takes about the time the oil takes to drain.by mikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC - Main Forum
Least that was what came with my car. I've also used a cotton towel figuring the loops would keep the surfaces away from each other and allow a place for any dirt to settle so it wouldn't even abrade between the window plastic and the cloth. My plastic rear window is about 9 or 10 years old. and to others who emailed me. I was watching the rain which was intense for about 10 minutes and suddenly saw it shift and go horizontal. Then 2 minutes later clear blue sky and sun.
