Sorry to fog you buddy! After our mountain drive, I think I parked the car and left it until I replaced the AOS. For 50 miles of steady speed interstate driving, you should be OK. It doesn't sound like yours is that far gone. IIRC the part costs $100-125ish at retail. Your mechanic should be able to purchase the part for less. Do you know what his standard labor rate is? $80/hour maybe? Tby jg wnc - Main Forum
Part numbers and process are in my post toward the bottom of the thread. Very easy and much cheaper than a new key head!by jg wnc - Main Forum
I don't notice it as much now. Maybe I am just used to it (68K now) or maybe the improvement has gone away.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Bruce, I have been monitoring your thread, and thinking "There but for fortune......." I was wondering about a couple things: 1. Do you do your own oil changes? 2. Regardless, Have you or your mechanic been cutting open the oil filter to inspect it for debris when you change your oil? (This seems to be be accepted method of catching one of these grenades before they blow up).by jg wnc - Main Forum
Beautiful car, and I was initially wondering what was going to happen the RFG Boxster. Really glad you are going to keep her. You are getting quite a stable these days.........by jg wnc - Main Forum

And there is indeed a Porsche of London Ontario on 600 Oxford Street West. Besides it is a left hand drive car in the pix, and I would presume if it was in the UK, they would show a RHD car.by jg wnc - Main Forum
They definitely replace it when they replace the windshield, but I have never heard of anyone just replacing the trim piece. Could you get a body shop to tape it up and repaint it. I suspect it would not survive removal, repaint and replacement.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Drove by Hennessey yesterday afternoon and I did not see any Boxsters on the front part of the lot. They can't have too many in stock. Ssssssswwwwwwwweeeeeettttttttt ride!by jg wnc - Main Forum
It will be interesting to see what the tear down shows. In my thinking the dealer red lining the motor should not have caused a clutch problem, unless they were doing drag racing starts, or unless there was a problem with the installation of the new clutch by the indie. My reasoning has me believeing that the indie might not have properly installed the new clutch - maybe didn't torque the pressby jg wnc - Main Forum

I just make sure that the reservoir is always full when I start bleeding each wheel.by jg wnc - Main Forum
What part of town do you live in Richard? Roock is a ways up the road from me. Kinetic is up there around Lake Lanier too, and a lot of PCA folks use them. Depending on where you live there are several possibilities.by jg wnc - Main Forum
However I am feeling better about my choice to install Speed Bleeders vs. using the Motive. Yeah, it's a bit more of a PIA, but it is not that big a deal.by jg wnc - Main Forum

I have never seen one that took me out of 2nd - even wide open courses. That is some serious deceleration and a tight corner at the end of a long straight section to go from 3rd to 1st.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I think there are a few guys on the board that are running the setup with headers w/sport cats and secondary cat bypass pipes. I'll let them jump in and tell you what it sounds like vs. stock.by jg wnc - Main Forum
two on each side. I am guessing that he is referring to the secondary cats on both sides as the primaries are built into the header. Being a cheap SOB, I would see if the flanges could be re-welded. If not, then I would take it as a sign that I need to install a whole new exhaust system with headers and a sport cat plus a secondary cat bypass to allow the car to breathe better.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Yesterday I had some time to dig into my key head that had two non-functioning switches (main lock/unlock and rear trunk). I had done some research on RennTech and found the related posting. It included ordering the switches from Digi-Key and gave the part numbers. I ordered two CKN9193CT-ND tactile switches from digikey.com. The switches cost $.65 each and they charged me $.08 tax. If you look inside the clamshell, you will see several round rubber pieces that press against the top when it is folded. Those are what are causing your spots, and I think every Boxster that lowers its top has them. As far as cleaning the soft top, I use RaggTop. Use the cleaner and follow it up with the waterproofing treatment and your top will look great.by jg wnc - Main Forum
More like an 11 or 12. What a dork!!!!!by jg wnc - Main Forum
I got 1411/0410 with a bad vacuum cannister. I think Pedro yanks this component out and reprograms the DME as European so that it doesn't miss the cannister.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I did a tour in 2010. This was the address where my response came from: werksfuehrungen@porsche.de I also received some correspondence from Christian Hoenniger at christian.hoennige&by jg wnc - Main Forum
Enjoy your permagrin! For wheel cleaning, I use P21S from carcareonline.com . I use the gel version and dilute it 50/50 with water. You still have to wipe the dirt off, but it does a great job loosening the brake dust from the wheels. I have been doing this for years with no damage to the wheels.by jg wnc - Main Forum
