I replace my fluid every 2 years. If I were you I would also replace every 2 years. If you are still concerned about future galvanic corrosion, you can always crack open the bleed screw every year or 6 months just to let some fluid out. This would avoid you doing options 2 and 3 and keep the bleed screw from freezing.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum

I have 2007 (987) 2.7l with a 6 speed manual transmission with 107,000 miles on original clutch. My dring type is non agrevive/smooth with 60% highway 40% city. My Porsche indy mechanic sais that my clutch is “self adjusting type” and when the clutch goes it goes without much warning. Is this true? And how can you tell or test to see if your clutch needs replacement. Right now it shifts fineby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
You are all partially right. But I don’t think that 100% EV will be “the” solution. 60% of all electricity produced around the world is produce through oil, gas and coal fired generating stations, therefore we are kind of chasing our tails. Yes, change is coming. Unfortunately our current EV solution at this time is the best that we have to offer to consumers and will not the finale solutiby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
A very small spark can occur, but not sparks flying. Remember that the battery installation is a bit counter intuitive as the battery terminals are towards the windshield and not the front bumper. Don't laugh it happend to me see picturesby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum

Yes it happened to me on my 987. It's called weeping. Usually the gasket starts to fail and allows some coolant to "weep" due to expansion and contraction. I never noticed any spots on the floor. At that time I already had over 75,000 miles so I did the pump, thermostat an coolant. And no I did not put in a "Porsche" pump but a good OEM german pump.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
I wonder how many "ICE" cars (no pun intended) did not also start .by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
I think TPMS's life is very wide and varied. I have a 2007 987 and a 2010 VW Passat CC. My first set (original) on the 987 with a 433 MHz TPMS lasted 7 years and my second sent is on it's 11th year. As for my Passat, it's still on the originals with a 315MHz TPMS and is on it's 14th year...go figure. BTW if you decide not to change now, you can replace them later without dismounting and balaby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
Here is a test that will tell you if it's the battery. Turn on all your electrical (radio, blower, lights...). Now try to start. A good battery should be able to start the car.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
I would not be concerned. If you did not store your car you would be probably driving it until your next oil change. I'm pretty certain that if you drove the car you would not be thinking about the so called damage that could occur with a 7,000 mile oil.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
The final state will not be all electric. Car manufacturers are producing ALL EV's because that's the best they can produce. Porsche is experimenting with artificial non carbon fuels and Toyota is investing in Hydrogen fuel cell/electric. We will not be able to dig the world inside out for lithium.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
Yes, Tail of the dragon is good but I like 226A better... less traffic, sharper hills, twists and turns (so your son's "Ford" might struggle a bit). Also Cherohala is nice too with nice views.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum

Did you have your keys in your pocket? This happened to me with my 987.1, but the opposite. I locked the car and went to the workbench and leaned over .... poof just like magic the car unlocked. These key fob buttons a small and sensitive. On my 987 if the front or back trunks are open, and you try to lock my car with the key fob it will lock the car, flash the turn signals twice and will honk onby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
They said you cannot put golf clubs in the rear trunk. You can fit 2 sets nicely tucked in I've done it.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
Just curious, who prefills or not their oil filter housing with oil when doing an oil change?by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
I'm not the original owner, I bought it in 2007 and it had only 5,000 miles.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
What a ride! I have driven cars from North America, Germany, Japan and Sweden but nothing comes close to my Boxster..nothing! Yea I know you can’t compare the ride and performance from a sports car to a sedan, but as operating cost go it has been the cheapest. So far on required repairs I have spent a total of $517. Yup $517. I do the all the required maintenance and some “Preventative mby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum

If you are going to replace the coolant and tank you might as well do the water pump. They start going bad between 60-70K.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
My first set lasted 8 years and got the new one from OE Wheels. They were Huff's and so far still working after 8 years. In the case of my 2010 VW Passat they are still running after 12 years, go figure!by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
And taking a picture at 67MPH too. congrats. I still have to go 200,000 moreby carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
Your Porsche dealer has them. It's a small tube with a brush and it's a perfect match. I had the same tube at least 5 year and its still works. BTW if you have very small stone chip don't use the brush because it's to large. Use a pointed toothpick with a small drop of paint and dap the spot.by carlos in Montreal - Main Forum
