I went with the same one from Pelican. Seemed to be of the same quality and fit perfectly. Definitely a DIY if you have patience and a great time to do some house keeping under the cowl. Hardest part was getting to it.by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Based on the instructions in Bentley's it looks straight forward. I think I have the Butyl figured out. Thanksby EZ AIRE - Main Forum
I ordered a new Heater Core because I am getting that faint smell of Anti-Freeze and an almost oil residue on the inside of the windscreen which point to the core going bad. Looking through the Bentley Manual today, it says to use a Butyl Sealant when reinstalling the new unit. I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this "magic" and steer me toward some or let me know if Permatex RTV Bluby EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Thanks. Easy Job. It took longer to get the car on jack stands and the wheels off then it did to change out the parts.by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
I'll be changing these out this weekend and I don't think my Bentley Manual will make it here in time for me to be able to get the torque specs for the attachements. Can anyone out there supply these for me. Thanksby EZ AIRE - Main Forum
When you figure it, I'd like to know what it was. I have had this on a recurring basis when I get below 1/2 tank. I'm not too confident the fuel level has anything to do with it; but, its an interesting coincidence.by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Thanks. That is exactly the information I was looking for.by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
My Roll Bar is starting to have paint flake off of the center section and I'm trying to get a handle on refurbing it. I have chased the Worth Paint down at Pelican to do the touch ups. And I am fairly familiar with what will be required by way of prep work. However, I am have not be able to find out how the padding is attached. If I remember correctly its snapped in somehow. Go with the Chrome lug bolts from Pelican. They Look Great!by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Done! I changed it out in about an hour. Everything went back together as advertised and works as it is suppossed to. For those that are doing it, take your time getting the door pannel off, mark the position of the regulator at the bottom and the glasses position in the old regulator before removing and you will find this task almost as painless as changing the oil and plugs. I put the window down and it wouldn't move after that. I got it up with a bit of fanageling and held it place (up) by lining the lower edge with velcro on the interior and exterior. I had a friend who runs a body shop have one of the mechanics there to pull it apart and there were cables laying in the bottom of the door. When I depress the switch the motor is running, just no movevment of any mecby EZ AIRE - Main Forum
The window regulator in my '99 986 on the passenger side has given up the ghost. Can anyone send me instructions on the replacement and adjustment of the auto droop? Or recommend a web site that explains? I know I have seen it around some where I just haven't had the chance to search for it properly. Thanks in advance!by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
This is the route I went a year ago and I love the set up!by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Does anyone know what size Optima is required for the 986 (1999). I'm on the road and need to order a new on and I can't find the info for some reason. I can't remember If its the 34 or the 34R. Thanks in advance. BTW, anyone running the Braille on a daily driver?by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
I got to the Indy yesterday and they pluged into the problem....the Driver's side Seat Belt threw the light. I just replaced that thing about 8 months ago....so they reset the light and so far so good....anyone else had this problem after replacing the belt do-hickie?by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Thanks. I tried to move the seat around, with no luck. I will be around my Indy tomorrow or Wednesday and have it checked.by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
Mine went KaPut last week on my way to work. Now I feel better about the $1100 it cost at the Indy to have it replaced. I looked at the parts diagram and it looked like Chinese Math, so I opted out of the DYI as I had to leave on a trip the following morning. Thanks for confirming my cowardice!by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
The other day, out of the blue and for absolutely no apparent reason, My Air Bag light came on. I tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery for about 30 mins with no luck. Anyone have any ideas where to go next to find out why this is happening? What is the troubleshooting procedure, if any? Or do I need someone with a better OBDII then I have?by EZ AIRE - Main Forum
