Mike, When you do your calculations of your Prius' payback period, I respectfully suggest that you consider that it will sell for considerably more than the equivalent non-hybrid when the time comes for you to sell it. So that extra ~$5k you spent for it should be reduced by the $2-3k extra you'll receive when you sell it. I bought a 2007 Prius early in 2012 and I'm pretty sure I could sellby jacknyc - Main Forum
Interesting video re car wash techniques. That was shot at Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford NY, where P-car eye candy can always be seen.by jacknyc - Main Forum
Thanks for posting. Enjoyed the videos. Be sure to watch this one too, about the oddball Panamericana concept, the only video on the museum's site that refers to the Boxster.by jacknyc - Main Forum
Ed Helms is a pisser! Love that guy.by jacknyc - Main Forum
I can't make it, but I suggest your trip pass through 7 Lakes Drive in Harriman State Park -- when I was there a few weeks, it had a coat of fresh asphalt, perfect for Boxstering.by jacknyc - Main Forum
The video should show one of us under the car trying to change the IMS, spilling oil all over that pristine floor. Also, what a waste of energy moving the car up (rather than just a person). But I have to admit: DO WANT.by jacknyc - Main Forum
Just before I sold her a year ago. Man, I missed that car all summer. Had to make room for the croc:by jacknyc - Main Forum
I had one, and those photos reflect about how well I could get it to fit. I've seen some that fit well, and some that don't. When they fit well, they look great, to my eye. I admired the design, and the fiberglass panels were pretty well made, but the hardware supplied (bolts, hinges, etc.) was poor quality. I sold it to a guy in North Carolina with a black Boxster. The darker cars are betby jacknyc - Main Forum
Great report, Bruce, I learned a lot too. I'm from that area, and will use that company if the occassion arises.by jacknyc - Main Forum
Great collection. I saved nearly all of them. Thanks!by jacknyc - Main Forum
My Boxster came with worn out knock-offs of those. They're not quite right. Logo looks like it says "Baxster"by jacknyc - Main Forum
Great post (tongue firmly in cheek I assume) ... I permagrinned. As to tires, I inherited some General Exclaim tires for 18" 987 wheels from a friend who was returning a leased Cayman, and find them to be excellent so far. They're the least expensive that size at Tire Rack, if cost is a consideration,by jacknyc - Main Forum
The other day I pulled a twenty out of my pocket and did a double-take: there was a familiar looking crest on the back of the bill. Even looking closely, I cannot read what the writing says where the "PORSCHE" would go, but it does not say "PORSCHE." Nor is the stamp an imprint of a crest from a key. The design is facing the same direction. Speculation and jokes welcome.by jacknyc - Main Forum
The Boxster is not a great car to sleep in, without reclinable seat ... I'll take the Bentley as a temporary residence. I see this video first appeared in 2009.by jacknyc - Main Forum
This one is making the rounds now: It looks like it was filmed in the summer, and in Sunnyside, Queens, NY ... does anyone here know this car? It f'n rules!!!by jacknyc - Main Forum
Very interesting site!! Thanks, Mike!by jacknyc - Main Forum
Pedro, great collection ... as to photos 11-15, I think I'd call the authorities if i saw someone in a hockey goalie's mask was taking a photo of my plates. ...by jacknyc - Main Forum
Car now in Quebec, with new owner, miss it alreadyby jacknyc - Main Forum
I understand that you are not asking about touch-up, but I nonetheless offer that spray "Plasti-Dip" worked great for me on my 2007. Sprayed a little into a cup, then used a very fine brush to fill in all the white spots. It's truly invisible, even in direct sun.by jacknyc - Main Forum
... or some of the Pandora competitors. Love hearing something new. Favorite tunes to drive by that come to mind: "Serpentine Fire" by Earth Wind & Fire; "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab; "Oceano" by Djavan; some Brahms or Dr. Dre ... I could go on for a while ...by jacknyc - Main Forum
And I used to think the TUV knew what it was doing!! (j/k ... never heard of "TUV" before)by jacknyc - Main Forum
