Pedro what a good looking son... and grandson! clearly, complex mechanical repairs are already within the compass of both of them... Beck is Back. An Updike novel, why not!by blazon - Main Forum
Pedro! you don't expect me to believe that, do you? toddler! re 'lesser boxster' - here's the rub...i have just about persuaded myself that the new Miata at +- 30 K is the worst of both worlds tho i do respect it as a concept - it's still a lot of money and the power numbers are faintly absurd...the 'lesser boxster' concept is fine except - it does not feature 'lesser bills'...in fact it demanby blazon - Main Forum
You and I and a few others no doubt remember that day well...epochal. Pedro, those power/weight ratios you are enamored of, rightly, have only one logical conclusion...two wheel power...buy a bike! Miss my 981S but not the threat of a monster ticket...on the drive returning it to the dealer on the day the lease ended i did a little counting -75 miles cross country, back roads, but the last 15 oby blazon - Main Forum
Steve... Thanks for your info, sorry to be so long responding. I haven't had the need recently to keep up with used market but judging by your implicit valuation I better get into it! The car will almost certainly have to be sold (NOT turned in!) About tires...Despite what their web site shows Tire Rack do apparently have the Good Years in stock, $830 the pair.by blazon - Main Forum
Can't put off new rear tires any longer(14K miles, GY)...very likely will have to give car back at lease end in 8 months at around 18Kmiles total...hate to spend around $800 the pair from the big three via Tire Rack for those 4K miles but they show no secondary sources...what gives? no Sumi etc? My 2000 BTip had plenty of choices...is it simply there aren't enough 981's around needing more rubbeby blazon - Main Forum
Pedro, et al... almost a year now into that delicious creation that is a 981 S it's high time i understood something i currently do not...buying the car off the showroom floor i was inheriting the specification dreamed up by a sales manager, not by one who enjoys driving hard...so in regard to the options included that i assume relate to some extent to handling in its general sense i've just gotby blazon - Main Forum
pedro... good morning and thanks for the video...illuminating but with the tach not working had to guess where he was on the low end round slow corners...point being if you exit a slow corner and are at that moment say 3500/4000 rpm your Box is not going to fly up the road...if you were in manual you'd have made sure to be around 5000+, right? i think my problem here goes back to racing motorcby blazon - Main Forum

so i'm having the pleasure of taking up some of Pedro's time on the phone the other day and he's telling me about this 130mph longish curve at Sebring that ends in a second gear hairpin...and if i heard him right his PDK is in auto and it's in 5th...he waits for his braking point and then STANDS on the brakes...much blipping/banging/farting later- all done by the gremlins- he arrives at the hairpby blazon - Main Forum
choose your poison! on matters headed IMS there's some of us that can't care less particularly true when 981's eschew such data as you coalesce. but now we're told best be aware such horrors as we now must share our PDK may stop at twenty grand a pop it's hardly likely we've a spare.by blazon - Main Forum

the leaves or the car, hard to say one's likely already away the other, man made it's exit delayed both lovely, the red and the grey.by blazon - Main Forum
i'll have the S if you don't mind another 10? i'm still inclined i love those reddish brakes the plexiglass that shakes at seven eight, i'm redefined.by blazon - Main Forum
a car that's got just seven speeds to satisfy our varied greeds 1, 2 will get us rolling the seventh highway strolling the rest will blow you in the weeds. you should write a poem to your car if you really love her...the limerick form, above, will do fineby blazon - Main Forum
three months into ownership of a new S which we bought off the showroom floor( long story) and thus had no direct say over its options and therefore its final cost you find yourself thinking about the subject of value for money:- we are delighted with what we have but, to an extent, we indulged it being our last ever new car...what seems to me now an outstanding value would be a new Base 981, 6Mby blazon - Main Forum
steve... your point is well made and taken...thank you even over a short term lease such as ours you can never project the circumstances/options/feelings that will exist at its close...you simply plan for what is most likely... while all that is developing the car itself remains an unqualified delight...I feel we have a Picasso with four wheels..an F 18 your wife can drive at her own pace in aby blazon - Main Forum
and this is blazon... south east Ohio, Appalachian roads, bliss... traded in '00 Base Tip 27 month lease...no way could we afford to buy one.. 15K down, $520 a month... 77K list, 7% discount...S, PDK, SC... 53K residual(academic)...the deal you do once in your life when you calculate at its completion if you're still breathing you will no longer be capable of driving it quickly...DOB 4/39by blazon - Main Forum
pedro... what a find! To us Brits this was a vintage era - the Gentleman racer...Moss/Collins/Brooks/Hawthorne...so very amateur back then...a few sandbags on some corners, public traffic during some practice times etc...the Isle of Man was very like this even a decade or so later when I raced there...nostalgia comes easily in retrospect for these good old days, the human toll finally, and righby blazon - Main Forum

still confused by conflicting versions of what to do/not to do if one of the 'EPA type oxygen' codes shows up(with solid CEL), is cleared, then recurs every, say, 250 miles...i've been through this cycle now 3 times in 500 miles and guilt is now present... is this the height of irresponsibility/stupid or, as others have said, 'on those kind of codes, dear boy, wipe clean and keep on trucking...oby blazon - Main Forum

good morning... would your knowledge of 'superb local shops' extend to Southern Ohio - specifically the Columbus/Cincinnati/Dayton triangle? I have reached the stage of Boxster ownership where my time to depart the comforting but golden confines of the main dealership may have come...they have been more than fair to me over the years but their overhead sure is high... in layman's language... so what is this strange 'flap' somewhere down the neck of the gas filler tube which has to be there apparently for the Gods of Emissions to stop all 15 gallons flooding out on the road in the event you perform a whoopsy daisy? and what are you supposed to do when you are told by Mr. Dealer that your 'flap' ain't working properly and has jammed in almost a fully closed poby blazon - Main Forum
