Yesterday 35+ Porsche cars enjoyed a day of driving and storytelling in regards to the harsh winter we all endured. With all that winter pent up demand... , I can say without a doubt..it was a great day. After coffee It started off a wee bit misty: After a few hours our wipers getting exercised we stopped off for lunch at the JW Marriott resort and spa in Gravenhurst and enjoyed great foodby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
Beautiful day in Southern Ontario...almost in the 60ies and sunshine. I was out for a drive today and I saw S**W running through the field trying to capture my car. I quickly shifted in to one of the six gears and avoided the early spring "s**w hunting season of hibernated Porsches". It wasn't easy but I survived to write this heroic tale.by BLKBOXS - Main Forum
QuoteTomBrand Cut the wires, the sub is not worth a crap anyhow It actually works quite well. There is nothing better than cruising topless listening to "Aerosmith - Dream On" or "Engelbert Humperdinck- last waltz"by BLKBOXS - Main Forum

One of my favoite dirt bikes was my '74 Honda Elsinore CR 250M, so I started surfing the web just reminiscing. and then I found this clip. http://honda-elsinore.alp-sys.com/video/stevemcqueen/index.files/SteveMcQueen-73HondaCR250MElsinore.mp4 That made my day! Thanks Guenter..I haven't had the guts to get into the car though... in fear of scuffen the virgin . I have a real dilemma now?...what in the heck do I do with the scuffed part? I don't want to throw it out and I know I can't store forever. Any suggestions from anyone in " Pedros board land "by BLKBOXS - Main Forum
One thing that has been driving me nuts when I enter the car in tight quarter is the inability to clear the scuff plate without scuffing the scuff plate. Today I had some time to replace my scuff plate as I followed the process on the web...I just searched for "replace boxster scuff plate" ...I know ..ingenious. It took about 2 hrs...... 1hr 55 min to find the 5MM allen key and 5 min to replaby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
Thanks Men, I didn't think it would be as easy as swapping out the units. In time I will swap out the unit for the same as the paint is starting to scratch off ? They sell the unit at Suncoast for ~ 500$ I do like the option of the "GTS" suggestion...however better yet Guenter, I am going to wait for the 2018 "Black Edition" Boxster with a flat 8 boasting ludicrous power Mikeby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
I own a 987S with the std Climate control with PCM...if that matters?. Can I upgrade to the auto climate control by switching the units...or are there ECU changes that need to be done? Has anyone done this? I have this one: (pic from the web) I would like this one: (pic from the web) Thanks Mikeby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
QuoteMarcW QuoteBLKBOXS I own a 2006 Boxster S. How often does Porsche update the ECU Software/Firmware. I rarely ever go to the dealer for servicing. QuoteGuenter in Ontario All you need is for one of those 9 year old tires to come apart at those speeds. The manufactured date code of your tire is stamped on each tire. It is important to check for this when you buy a car used. It is a 4 digit code like "0810" which is 8th week of 2010. Mikeby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
Quotequikkix One more note... with the top in the service mode and engine compartment accessible, I recognized the ball joints for the top cables were loose. I tightened them down before putting all back together and was VERY happy to realize the annoying rattle was eliminated! QuoteGuenter in Ontario QuoteMikenOH The bumpers--I don't car for that look much, especially the black or dark color around the air takes. Regarding keeping the $700 differential between PASM and the X73--they didn't get the highest margins/car by accident I agree with you on both counts. The dark colour makes the intakes look too large and takes away from the sleek, aerodynamic look. As forby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
I have spent most of the night tonight building "my" perfect Boxster....wow...so much fun With 3ft of snow to melt...what else should I do. The GTS looks like a fabulous deal. I built my GTS with the options I desire (I am very weak ) and for a few $ less I would get a cooler looking car (IMHO) car with 15 more HP. I can't wait to get my new 2015( to me) GTS in 2-3 years. What a great offeriby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
Sure Peter let me know, I would love to see that fix in person. I think we have lots of time as the snow is still here and not melting very fast.by BLKBOXS - Main Forum

Yes they are...however wait 1.5-2 years for a 30% discount I purchased my with 12K Miles for 50%+ off sticker of a new one...thank you original owner for taking great care of my Porsche. We still talk once a year and he is always interested how the car is doing. I am in Canada and he is in sunny Cal. Mikeby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
You are correct Guenter. I called up my saved configured Boxster S and the configurator opened a window stating that some of the options are no longer valid and would I like to convert to the new model year? Here comes 2015...I wonder what goodies Porsche will be offering due to the price hike? anyone hazard to guess/wish...X50 power kit (facsimile there of) Mikeby BLKBOXS - Main Forum
