A good friend of mine, who has a Bel undetectable unit, ran the wires from his 981's driver side fuse panel (near the door) up along the A pillar to the base of the windshield. He mounts the detector on the far left of the dash, where it is practically out of view to oncoming cars (i.e. police cruisers). Kudos to you for not being afraid to modify your new car, to suit you.by Roger987 - Main Forum
That's a really great shot of your 981S, Laz. The authorities like our cars... Another great thing about your car is... you drive it... lots. Cheers!by Roger987 - Main Forum
twice, actually, when New York state's finest flipped on their lights and stopped me to take a closer look. For a moment or two, my smile waned, but not for long, as the officer walked round and round the car, grinning like a kid at Christmas... "How fast will it go?", he asked: "I can't speak from personal experience; I've read it's around 170 mph", I replied. His response was to continue gby Roger987 - Main Forum
The number of times the car puts a smile on our face, that is. By that measure, the Boxster reigns supreme. "Here’s the operating procedure when driving a Boxster for the first time. 1) Approach driver’s door. 2) Wriggle down into low, low driving seat. 3) Fire up 3.4-litre boxer engine. 4) Drop roof. 5) Press Sport and Noisy Exhaust buttons. 6) Commence driving. 7) Negotiate first corner.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Lz had inquired about a light blue he'd seen recently. Here's a link to a large variety of Porsche colours. As I scrolled through the colours, this page caught my eye. Not quite sure why.by Roger987 - Main Forum
of how much juice is in the batteries. VW has a LONG road ahead of it. LONG and EXPENSIVE. Here's hoping it's not as crooked as the road on which it's been travelling.by Roger987 - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario I've already put a deposit down on one. Mine will be loaded, including Sports Exhaust. It's gonna rock! The PSE will shoot sparks out of the makeshift tailpipe.by Roger987 - Main Forum
I see a PCar in Beck's future.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Not to sound TOO cynical, but VW was sure it could pull off 'clean diesel', too. Which, of course, it did, but just not on the road.by Roger987 - Main Forum

I thought you'd meant you wanted to make sure that Porsche (the company) was aware that you now own the car and that recall notices etc. should be sent to you. I didn't read your post carefully enough.by Roger987 - Main Forum
The second one sure is purdy. Rhodium Silver can have a distinctly blueish tint.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Assuming the car is now registered in your name with your state motor vehicle dept., call Porsche North America, and tell them you've bought the car. They can probably help you.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Very nice colour. Very nice car.by Roger987 - Main Forum
You're half right. To replace the bearing, the case would have to be split. But, it's my understanding that Pedro's DOF can still be installed to lubricate the bearing, once the outer bearing seal is removed.by Roger987 - Main Forum

I'm convinced that 99 percent (or more) of the large IMS bearing engines (2006+) will not experience IMS bearing failure provided the oil is changed frequently (more than once per year) and the engine is 'exercised' regularly, in the manner you suggest. (I'd be far more worried about the texting teenager taking out the entire back end of the car at a stoplight.) Continue to 'drive it like you sby Roger987 - Main Forum
While I prefer painted front add-ons, (over the black found on the GTS), I find the rear humps detract from the overall lines of the car, most notably the rear fenders. It is, of course, entirely subjective.by Roger987 - Main Forum
He'll be as strong and determined as his grandfather, and will come through the surgery with flying colours.by Roger987 - Main Forum

No strong blue or tan hues, just a perfect silver. QuoteGuenter in Ontario QuoteRey Rey, with Flickr, you have to use only part of the BB photo link. Your link should look like this: The result will be:by Roger987 - Main Forum
Just to be clear - I didn't/don't see any photos attached to Rey's post. Hence, my 'invisible' comment. Can anyone else see photos attached to Rey's post?by Roger987 - Main Forum
I'm sure I'd prefer ANY colour, rather than that invisible paint.by Roger987 - Main Forum
If you have a choice between storing your Porsche in a heated or unheated facility...take a long hard look at the type of heater, and the extent of automatic fire extinguishing sprinkler system, before concluding the former is preferable. Just saying...by Roger987 - Main Forum
After using the Bounce sheets for a decade, when my car is stored in barns, I think I can safely conclude the sheets don't ATTRACT mice. They're not expensive (the Bounce sheets), and it's easy to place them in the car. So, on the off chance they might help... Maybe it's like locking car doors, and placing valuables out of sight. The would-be-thieves might move on to a more promising vehicle. Iby Roger987 - Main Forum
