Great result! Keeping those drains clear is very important, as the immobilzer is located in the lowest point of the interior and must be kept dry or all kinds of weird behaviors may result if they get wet. Most people know about the ones under the clamshell (where the foam drip tray is), and many install small screen protectors there to keep out debris. As you point out there are more drains uby grc0456 - Main Forum

I have been using the Osram Night Breaker H-7 halogen bulbs. I think there is a noticeable improvement over the OEM H-7's. Found this comparison video (granted, not in a 986): I also use the Osram Cool Blue W5W for the parking lights.by grc0456 - Main Forum

And here's a plug (pun intended) for Pedro's Garage DIY site, where Pedro shows how to plug a tire. I know this is pretty simple stuff, but many of us are not experienced in auto repair. It's DIY sites like this that really help. I recently had a small screw puncture the tire dead center in the tread, and having never plugged a tire before, naturally referenced Pedro's excellent site to suppby grc0456 - Main Forum

I ran a bottle through my 2003 Base this summer. Was in a large traffic jam in VA with upper 90's temps and high humidity - temp gauge never budged off if normal.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Stay safe, PB and family, and all others in FLA. My stepdaughter got a flight out of Miami on Thursday, so she was fortunate.by grc0456 - Main Forum
QuoteMarcW but with the code not written down somewhere, RennTech.org has a "thread" that if one posts the info about his radio -- I don't recall what's necessary but the thread has a post that states what is required -- Loren will respond with almost certainly the right code. I posted to this thread to get the code for my radio and I didn't have to wait very long. Here's a link to the thread:by grc0456 - Main Forum
"You could always test your w/w fluid by squirting a bit into a plastic container and set it in your freezer overnight. By morning, you'll know whether it's antifreeze or not." Does the G in G-Man stand for genius? Seriously, just buy regional/season fluid. I have lived in the Northeast US my whole life and have never had the fluid in the tank freeze in any vehicle I've owned - mostly parkedby grc0456 - Main Forum

QuoteIndybox So I'm thinking of having a paint restoration job on my soon to be 18 year old Boxster (1999 Forest Green) and this will likely include removal of the front bumper. Car has about 85K miles. What should I think about having done in the way of maintenance or upgrades when we're in this neck of the woods? The only two tasks that I can think of are ... radiator cleaning and trunk releasby grc0456 - Main Forum
Looking for a full set to mount my winter tires. Open to any style and appearance can be less than perfect - as long as wheels are straight. Need 7 x 17 an 8.5 x 17. I am in MA. Can pick up in NE, or pay for you to ship.by grc0456 - Parts for Sale
Guenter, so happy to hear you have awakened the silver beauty. Your words gave me a chill! It's only about 7 weeks to BRBS too!by grc0456 - Main Forum
Yes, Lee is the new owner and seems to be enjoying it. He was there with his dad, Ed - the owner of a Cayman R. The paint on the Speed Yellow car look likes absolutely brand new, so kudos to you for keeping it so nice. Here's a pic as I was following him on the way from our motel to the event: Good luck with the CGTS and say hi to Pedro for me if you see him! Garyby grc0456 - Main Forum
Hi Pedro, I went to Werks! Yes, I made the 2-day drive down from Boston to attend - crazy, I know. But it was the 20th Anniversary of the Boxster, so I had to go and I had a great time. I met up with some friends there from the Boxster Register. An absolute highlight for me was meeting and briefly talking to Grant Larson - the designer of the original prototype who also was heavily involvedby grc0456 - Main Forum
