Will the detailing shop be open to non-residents? I live nearby and would love to have a good detaling facility close by.by danz76 - Main Forum
The developer, Gil Dezer, is well know and highly regarded condo developer here in South Florida. The Porsche Design Tower Miami is one of his most ambitious projects, and in the city of Sunny Isles that he has been an integral part of re-developing. Gil's father, Michael, was also a developer in South Florida, as well as an avid car collector and enthusiast. He is known for putting classic carsby danz76 - Main Forum
Would one neeed to remove the bumper to install?by danz76 - Main Forum
Beautiful pics and colors, thanks for posting. I'll be sure to post pics from the upcoming Porsches by the Bay event at the Mandarin in lower Miami. Plenty of sunshine, palm trees and great Porsches expected.by danz76 - Main Forum
Your analogy is inappropriate. If the wood manufacturer that made the wood products that were used in your house had a design defect in the manufacturing process that led to the wood being very susceptible to termites (i.e. more so than wood commonly found in the industry), and as a result, your house was chewed to the ground by termites, would you believe that to be the grounds for a lawsuit?by danz76 - Main Forum
One more. Thanks for the reminder.by danz76 - Main Forum
I will consult with Pedro and get back to you on that.by danz76 - Main Forum
Yes, and I'm quite glad that the plam trees stay the same color here. I do miss the changing colors of the leaves, but certainly not raking them, shoveling snow or parking my Boxster for 5 months.by danz76 - Main Forum
The class certification stage is when the court determines whether there is a cause of action and identifiable class, whether common issues are raised, whether a class action is preferable for the resolution of common issues and whether there is a suitable representative plaintiff. If the Court determines a class action is appropriate it will "certify" the action. This particluar case apparentlyby danz76 - Main Forum
Porsche owners' class action approved - article Class certification is considered a huge accomplishment and a very big deal in the legal community. Apparently a South Florida lawyer / Porsche enthusiast got tired of a "design flaw" that made his car's LID headlights very susceptible to being stolen. I'd make a wry comment about South Florida lawyers and their Porsches, but I am one myself.by danz76 - Main Forum
I am wondering if the dealership will fire the sales doofus or the manager who called the police. In the face of litigation, probbaly not (yet), but what a nimwit. PS - each state is different, but the police generally have a high degree of legal immunity from these wrongful arrest type claims.by danz76 - Main Forum
I used to park it for the winter when I lived in NJ/NYC for my first 5 years of ownership and drive a Jeep during that time, but now that I live in Miami Beach, yes, its a daily driver.by danz76 - Main Forum
Has anyone installed LED lights in the radiator opening of their bumpers? I am thinking of installing a pair on my '01 S because I like how they look on the newer cars. If so, would you care to post or PM me a picture of your install? Any concerns over the LEDs blocking some of the air that is fed through the vent to the radiator? The LEDs are about an inch wide, and the vent opening is about 4-by danz76 - Main Forum
We all knew this was coming....I'm only 35 but in my lifetime we've gone from huge American gas guzzling sedans to asian econoboxes and K-cars to minivans and behemoth SUVs, some of which are based on army vehicles. This really is the next big thing (or maybe not so big - you know what I mean). Miami Herald story on CAFE standardsby danz76 - Main Forum
Very cool. Thanks for posting.by danz76 - Main Forum
I agree, and think that a comparo with a Z4 would be more appropriate, but I enjoyed the pictures.by danz76 - Main Forum
Top Gear article Not a bad article, and some cool pictures.by danz76 - Main Forum
IMS for certain. At 4 years, I would strongly consider replacing the clutch and flywheel.by danz76 - Main Forum
This practice was very commonly reciprocated by other P car drivers when I lived in northern NJ, but here in Miami people either ignore me or stare at me, so I have been doing it less frequently. I agree, I'd like to see this saved.by danz76 - Main Forum
Link to really expensive Boxster on DuPont registry Looks really nice, but with the 2013 models on their way, is someone really going to drop $91k on a 2012?by danz76 - Main Forum
Thank you Marc. I liked your "solution looking for a problem" terminology!by danz76 - Main Forum
I've cut and paste a response that the owner of LN wrote on the Pelican board a few years ago, dentoted by "START" and "END". Curious whether people here agree: START Good question! There are mutiple reasons to use the spin on oil filter adapter. The original reason to make the spin-on oil filter adapter was to allow us to use readily available adapters to easily plumb in an external oil cooleby danz76 - Main Forum
The sales literature published by LN and the 101 Projects book sold by Pelican's founder Wayne Dempsey both suggest that the stock filter and canister setup permits oil to bypass the filter, and that converting to an integrated filter design supposedly allows for better filtration, i.e. due to no oil bypass of the filter. I'm not sure whether to believe the hype, but with an '01 that I want to keby danz76 - Main Forum
Has anyone else installed the LN Engineering spin-on oil filter adapter? Anyone think its worth it?by danz76 - Main Forum
Good choice. I just did the glass - GAAH. Expensive, but well worth it.by danz76 - Main Forum
Apparently, " 2008 Porsche Boxster can go 12,000 miles between changes". How interesting! Anyone care to try it? Article on Yahooby danz76 - Main Forum
Congrats, hope to see you in Miami soon! I'm in a green '01 S, top is almost always down.by danz76 - Main Forum
I have an '01 S in great shape, and have given the same consideration to mine lately, as well as to my '02 Grand Cherokee. While I traded in the Jeep on an '07 (and bought a 2 year warranty), I decided to keep the Boxster and do the work it needed. The Boxster has much more sentimental value to me, and since I can't easily afford the payments on an '07 Boxtser, I kept mine.by danz76 - Main Forum
