Drove to work with the top down this morning. Still love my baby.by SMILIN - Main Forum
For many of the early years at PPBB, car care was a popular topic. Paint care, leather care, canvas care, rubber trim care, vinyl care, tire care, underside of the muffler care, and some of you may be familiar with the concept of plastic rear window care. Plexus was a favorite for rear window care. I just took someone's word that it worked better than water, and it smells oddly good, so I occaby SMILIN - Main Forum
Thanks Joanne. It sounds like you've got a perfectly adjusted granddaughter! My daughter is now 14, and she's itching to drive too.by SMILIN - Main Forum

STOMP ON IT ONCE IN A WHILE! After the car is warm, and after you have a couple thousand miles on the car, of course. I mean, you have to verify that the rev limiter is functioning properly.by SMILIN - Main Forum
I also wondered, and still wonder if the boomerang would have been helpful for me. My car is lowered and after 15+ years, the bottom of the bumper cover is pretty thin.by SMILIN - Main Forum
Blending flaps, blower fans, auto climate control.... Gone are the days ('69 Bug) where you pulled a lever for hot air from the engine compartment or opened the window vents for cool airby SMILIN - Main Forum

Car is running. I just need to take it for a drive and burn off the residual oil. It took about 2 hours once I had the engine open and the top cover off. I was confused when I read Pedro's steps, as I thought I was going to do the repair all from above by removing a few extra parts, but I ended up doing the repair from the top and the wheel well like last time. I swore a few times, as I brokeby SMILIN - Main Forum
I guess it's been 8 years and 50k since my car looked like this: I distinctly recall after replacing my AOS last time that I swore that I'd happily pay to have it done if there was a next time. well, i guess I'm cheap, and really do enjoy fixing the car myself, so plan to do it myself again. thanks to pedro for documenting the "from the top" technique - I'll give it a try. in '97-'98, in my local Porsche region and on several forums, Boxsters/Boxster owners used to get laughed at by "purists" not just because of the water-cooled engine, but because you had to drop the engine to change the oil. Of course, that wasn't true, but it always made me chuckle. I'm sure it's also just a myth that you have to remove the bumper cover to change the air filter. Oh, wait, tby SMILIN - Main Forum

no I'm not hoping that it blows up in 18 mos, I'm hoping to start the gently used car search around then. I expect it'll be a tough, slow search for a barebones, manual S, but hope that my current baby will continue to treat me well until the search is complete. Thanks for sharing thoughts from your search.by SMILIN - Main Forum
I won't proactively replace. My plan is to drive my car until it crumbles or blows up, then buy a used 2013/2014 Boxster S, some medium blue, black leather, as few options as possible. Hoping for this in about 18 months...by SMILIN - Main Forum
Thank you for the response. "...something is wrong." I know, I know - I had a lapse in patience and judgement. I still haven't seen a diagram that points to which length bolt goes where, but was told by the boxsterpro that the longer bolts go to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions. I bought and stuck in a 25mm bolt and all is well. The shop would have taken care of the issue for me, but was closby SMILIN - Main Forum
I have to say that I'm intrigued by the BRZ. But what the he## do you mean that it's underpowered?!!! Same HP, less weight than my Boxster. Just what are you saying?! Aside from the handling stated above, what are your (or your friend's) overall impressions of the car? Thanks, Dougby SMILIN - Main Forum
Howdy. Yes, that's the amp. It's generally considered a "basic" amp. Others would call it crap. But it's been in there for this long...why not keep it. I'm far from a stereo pro, but I'll echo what I've heard here over the years. If you want to improve your sound, even with the stock head unit, upgrading the amp & speakers (+sub) is the way to go. Hi all. I replaced my tension and idler pulleys due to noise. Had the serpentine belt back in place and was doing my i'm-done-i'm-happy-but-better-check-everything-one-more-time check when i noticed that the "top right" bolt on the water pump was touching the belt, and actucally deflecting it a bit. ("top right" also described as the bolt on the top, driver's side, almost touching the serpentiby SMILIN - Main Forum
