Hi all. I replaced my tension and idler pulleys due to noise. Had the serpentine belt back in place and was doing my i'm-done-i'm-happy-but-better-check-everything-one-more-time check when i noticed that the "top right" bolt on the water pump was touching the belt, and actucally deflecting it a bit. ("top right" also described as the bolt on the top, driver's side, almost touching the serpentiby SMILIN - Main Forum

An update, now that I've had a chance to look over the car in the dry garage, rather than in a downpour in the work parking lot. There are four panels. The front panel and the L-shaped panel are ok. The holes I saw in the front panel appear to be by design, and otherwise was just sagging because I need clamps. The rear panel was gone, except for some broken pieces very firmly attached to theby SMILIN - Main Forum
About that puddle you left...I hope you made sure it drained off the road so no poor fool drove through it and tore up the underside of his carby SMILIN - Main Forum
Can you get a set of golf clubs in the trunk (carry bag, long clubs removed is ok)? Fit for a 6', 220lb dude? One thing that I love about my '98 is that I removed the center console. I think the extra space for my legs is what allows me to drive the Boxster for hours and hours in great comfort. I'm guessing that removing the center console is not an option here. I know that several of the attachments were in place, because they still are, surrounded by broken plastic. I always look forward to an opportunity to play in the garage on a cold, rainy weekend....by SMILIN - Main Forum
I drove through a big puddle this morning at about 40MPH. The puddle covered the entire lane, several inches deep, about 20’ long. The car performed handsomely! I continued about 10 miles on my way to work, in a downpour most of the way. I mention the downpour because it was loud and I couldn’t hear much. About the time I got off the freeway, the external noise was reduced due to slowerby SMILIN - Main Forum
Until I do, I'll just say thank you Pedro and all for keeping this place humming along, and happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Dougby SMILIN - Main Forum
Hi Bob, I don't seem to be having much luck with private messages. If you'd like to follow up on the hitch, send me an email to boxster devetter {dot} net There's no hurry on my part, so feel free to explore the willwood hitch, even if it takes some time. Dougby SMILIN - Main Forum
I can't recall what name this hitch was commonly called back in the day...I think it came with the SouthSport trailer, but I bought it used so I am not sure. This works well with the 986...not sure about other models. To install you remove the bumperettes, drill a hole in each side, then you use one existing hole and your new hole on each side to mount the thing. You can't have the bumperettesby SMILIN - Main Forum

Sorry about your car Bruce. There's a lot of good advice given above, it seems, but is a replacement engine of some sort a project that you're willing to endure? I can see it if you are interested in doing some/most of the work yourself and want to learn along the way, but if you're paying someone else to do the work, the financial component seems to get out of whack for me. Let alone the timeby SMILIN - Main Forum
can you imagine being the driver of that car and be forced to keep it under 20MPH????????? T O R T U R Eby SMILIN - Main Forum
Well, my version of "repair" anyways. Thank you to Ed Littrell who gave me his original steering wheel many years ago after upgrading. My wheel wasn't too bad at the time so I stored his gift. Today was the day when I had the time and decided my wheel was ready for a refresh after 14+ years. Yes, I confess, the after picture has the wheel dressed while the before is just grimy, but WOW, whaby SMILIN - Main Forum
