Heading back from the beach today, I see a distinctive grille a couple of hundred feet back and slow down to let it pass so I can get a better look.

Sure enough, it was a gorgeous, fire engine red XKE convertible, guy driving, woman passenger. She gave me a "V" sign and a wave as they went by, I think we were the only two convetible sports cars on that stretch of road. I don't know XKEs well, so it could have been a 1961 or a dn 1974 for all I know.

Beautiful cars.

2001 Base, purchased in 2004, replaced engine at 130K+, RIP 2017
when I went there they were too busy to give me the ride so I got my confirmation # and left. The Jags are now built by the Indian company Tata. This after being part of Ford for a while. They said that they are still made in Britain.

About the same time I got an offer to test drive a Ferrari at a country club followed by gourmet champagne and Hors d'oeuvres.
That was fun. Best part was the sound of the car accelerating through the gears with their double clutch transmission (maybe there isn't a muffler). Exhilarating drive.
See photo, I should have dressed up for the event.
