when you see the original pieces, it will be clear how they work and why they're better. one more note in case you do it yourself; i found it nearly impossible to do it with the car one the ground. much more simple on a lift.by frogster - Main Forum
i'm sorry but i'm going to chime in here and i know people will argue with me but i have spent more than half of my life in a german speaking country and even though i lived in the french speaking part, hearing and speaking german (or Schwiizertüütsch) is still a daily occurance. this girl is american and is pronouncing it with an american accent. the "e" at the end is too exagerated in her prby frogster - Main Forum
having replaced these myself, I too agree that despite the cost, the original porsche pieces are worth getting. while i was under there i just went ahead and replaced all of them so that they would last another six or seven years. one problem with trying to use generic nuts and bolts is that with the continuous heating and cooling cylcles, i would be pretty sure that they'll break in a couple ofby frogster - Main Forum

thanks Kevin. It appears as though this is how they do it. You don't get the title until you're in the US.by frogster - Main Forum
I was thinking about this issue and was wondering how porsche could prevent you from driving the car to another country and registering it there. The only way would be if in fact you didn't own the car yet. Porsche keeps ownership of the car and "lends" it to you to toodle around europe for a few weeks before you give it back to them and they deliver it to you in the US or canada. Has anyone herby frogster - Main Forum
Quotemikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC is that registration will be a trip-wire as the lack of VAT payment will be a red-flag. when you buy something in germany for export, you don't pay VAT (doesn't matter what the destination country is.) You pay VAT in Switzerland when you import it. I've done that many times. That's very common since Switzerland is not in the EU.by frogster - Main Forum
it's fairly easy to import cars with n. american specs into switzerland. you just have to make a few mods (speedo if it's in MPH, some lights, etc.) but they're easy to do. Mostly just swapping those parts. The authorities aren't as much of a pain in the arse as they are here. so the question remains; i order/buy the car in n. america. i pick it up at the factory. i drive into switzerland and reby frogster - Main Forum
I was just talking to a friend of mine in switzerland and he was aghast at the price difference for a panamera in the US vs Switzerland. It's virutally double over there. This got him to thinking about just ording a US car with European delivery and "forgetting" to ship it over. I'm sure that Porsche has thought of this and has taken precautions to make it difficult or impossible to do. When youby frogster - Main Forum
that if you hit someone from behind, it's pretty much your fault. even if they cut you off, you have to be in control of your vehicle. i would suppose that since the laws in switzerland are essentially the same as in germany, that the rules would be like that in germany as well.by frogster - Main Forum
there's something fishy about that video. there is no possible way that car is going 200KPH FASTER than the cars and trucks he's passing. those big trucks aren't going more than about 120 KPH. neither are the mini-vans, etc.by frogster - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario I'm a paper maps and Google Maps guy. I like to use both for planning trips. I like to know which way I'm going before I go there. best practice is to look on paper maps to familiarize youself with your route before you go. there is no way you can do that on a tiny screen. there have been many tragic stories in the news about people who rely on their navigation device blby frogster - Main Forum
this interviewer was an utter moron! "that's 'nurburgring' for those of you who don't speak german" what?!?! He also asks how anyone can buy a porsche with an automatic. i'll bet he has absolutely no clue as to what PDK is and how it works. QuoteClarkaddison …The build quality is better, given that it was manufactured before the robots took over completely… when we visited the porsche factory, they proudly proclaimed that they only had one robot; the one that was used to put the glue onto the frame of the windshield and place the windshield in there. i wasn't aware that robots have taken over completely at porsche. what parts oby frogster - Main Forum
