These are supposedly the hot ticket for track tires you can drive on the street: The 205 size isn't available, but the 225/45/17 will fit a 7" boxster front rim; Discount tire carries these also. Does the Kumho XS come in those sizes? It's a good track tire but I wouldn't want to drive in a thunderstorm with them. Another choice could be the Sumitomo HRTZ lll (?); an inexpensive max perf. tirby MikenOH - Main Forum

Agreed--this isn't the forum to get into the details of what's going on politically in the EU, but the events of the past weekend would indicate that there has been a political shift in that community and that the strategy the EU has been using to deal with its problems for the last 2 years is now up in the air. It will be interesting to see how the EU banker (read Germany) will react to the negaby MikenOH - Main Forum

If it's priced below the 981--say $30-35K--there might be a market for it, but that's a pretty small market. In that range, the roadster alternatives are Miata, Mustang, Camaro(?),Mini and VW Eos--not exactly similar cars, but if you want a drop top, there are alternatives. Frogster, regarding the "inevitable" European collapse, what makes it inevitable? I can see where they will be in for aby MikenOH - Main Forum
We have an 08 328 and drove the 335D at a BMW event last year and was surprised how much torque the car had--400+ Ft/Lb (?). At the low end of the rev range it felt like a Chevy small block. I've heard reports of highway mileage in the high 30's. I thought it was a terrific car; the only thing I didn't like on that particular car was the combo of 18" RFT's combined with sport package which gavby MikenOH - Main Forum
Interesting. I wondered how much heat these exchangers could get rid of, being located on top of the motor in a cramped engine compartment, but I guess as long as the coolant temp is lower than the oil, there will be cooling to some degree to the engine oil. I'm probably going to do the lower temp thermo next year, along with a new water pump.by MikenOH - Main Forum

FWIW, I've owned 2 boxsters in the past 12 years--a '99' and a '06'. I traded the first on the 06 with 40k on it and had zero problems after many auto-x days combined with a few track days. I've currently got 38K on the 06 averaging 6-10 track days a year since new. I have not had one repair on this car since new, just normal maintenance items. You've 90K on it?--good for you! BTW, Marc, Excellence Mag this month has a nice article on the merits of buying a 996 turbo; they thought it represents an excellent value for the $.by MikenOH - Main Forum
Quoteporca911 Hi all, I have owned a 2002 911 C4S tiptronic since the start of the year and I am rather fond of it. However in the past few weeks I have heard of two owners of friends of mine who's 997 Carrera S have developed a fault with their engines which requires expensive engine rebuilds!. Both are out of warranty too! ARHHH!!! One was a scored piston liner (which sounds like a common isby MikenOH - Main Forum
Someone that posts frequently on the planet 9 site attended the launch in the Canary Island last month month and he included a long review and lots of pictures. In my view, this is one gorgeous car; check how the car looks in various colors. In dark grey or white I thought he car looked stunning. and thought it represented one of the best Porsche values around with regards to speed, handling and a stout drive train. If I was looking for a used 911 for under $50K, I think I'd start with that model.by MikenOH - Main Forum
I wondered about that, thinking truck traffic should be in the 100-120kph range (?) But then I found this other Corvette video in DE and the general traffic speed looked to be around 160-180 kph (100mph+). The red car hits 220 kph and he doesn't look like he's going nearly as fast as the Z06. Other video: Possibly for a better comparison, here is ZL1 video on a test track breaking 200mph--watby MikenOH - Main Forum
I've only driven on the autobahn for 3 days back in 2000, but one of the things I did notice is the lane discipline (slower cars right, no one camping out in the left lane) and that it seemed that everyone understood how the system worked and stayed within the rules. I have to say that when you're flying in that left lane, passing traffic on your right that might be moving 60 mph less than you aby MikenOH - Main Forum
I have to say, the passenger compartment survived remarkably well given the speeds involved. The driver of the crashed car claimed another driver getting on the autobahn --driving "erratically"--was the cause of the accident.by MikenOH - Main Forum

So, essentially you keep your steady state camber settings, via the less body roll produced by the system, rather than loose some portion of it as the car takes a hard corner and with corresponding typical body roll..right?by MikenOH - Main Forum
