Get him a manual WRX or Golf GTI, and he’ll start liking driving.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Odessa, FL) ... well, only if you have Porsche's 800 volt charging system. Happy Charging, Pedro True. I was talking to a Tesla owner at a charging station who said they had to charge there instead of home cause it took too long at his home. No thanks.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
My 11 yr old son enjoys riding in the Pcar. Whenever we go somewhere, he asked are we taking the 911? When I go out for a drive on weekends, he still asks me if he can come along. I’m happy for that, but if I take him to a car meet up event, however, he’s bored after 10 minutes. Many kids these days don’t care about cars anymore. Most are automatics, and most will never learn to drive a stiby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Quotefrogster QuoteCarreraLicious i like that plate, "Also Known As 911." Thank you! I quite like it too.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Quotegrc0456 Nice. I like the 968 in Coupe form. Now, we need him to get a Boxster. Sorry...I meant 968. I should’ve asked him if he liked Boxsters, as I’ve never seen him talk about them in his collection before. 924, 944, and 968s, but not 986/7s. Anyone know?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Quotegrc0456 What did Magnus bring to the party? He arrived in the black 964 with his wife...by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Haha, thanks John. I took the slow and scenic route to the meet up so it was cool. Wish you would’ve come along that day. Happy New Year pal!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Finished off the driving season this year with a meet up hosted by Magnus Walker. He gave me a nice decal as well!...Hope you all have a great New Year filled with more Porsche adventures!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Happy Holidays all! I’ve been using the below Porsche battery maintainer for several years with my Boxster and then now I’m using it with my 911. I liked it so much, I bought a second (used from eBay) to help my mom keep her Benz’s battery topped up (as she only drives maybe once a week). This should work for any car as long the lighter socket is live when the car is off, right)? And yeah,by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
What brand of tires did you have on it?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Quotetom coughlin is emergency stopping. I used to drive my Boxster with summer tires on clear winter days until I read a post from somebody who did the same. He was on the interstate and when the traffic suddenly stopped but he couldn't and crashed. Ever since reading that probably 15 years ago I've always changed to winter tires when the temp drops below about 40. You can be careful about acceby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I think you’re right, and there’s multiple factors involved, but in general, I don’t think it’s true that you simply can’t drive with summer tires in cold weather. You just have to drive sensibly. Christmas Eve pic for you all. Hope everyone gets all they wish for. I wish Porsche never stops making manuals!...by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I never thought of the weight distribution possibility. Good point. Prob a combination of the tire choice and extra weight in the back.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Oh, and curiously, I had Sumitomo HRT Z tires (non N rated) on my previous 01 Boxster, and those did break loose under acceleration in the cold. With these Bridgestones, I’m not sure if it’s because they’re N rated or not, or if it’s just the brand, but they don’t break loose if I give it abrupt gas in the cold even though the 911 has more than 100hp more than the Boxster. Strange.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Wow, they really hate the 718 4 banger. A little harsh, but I don’t blame them. Should be a flat 6.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
QuoteMikenOH Just out of curiosity, which tires did you have on it and how scary was it? I have the N1 rated Bridgestone Potenzas on the car. It was not scary at all believe it or not. You just have to take it easy until they warm up and I usually move the steering wheel left and right a little when the tires are cold (sorta like the F1 guys do to warm up their tires but much less aggressively).by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
For a morning drive, but not a problem! And I’m on summer tires! Ok, I know I’m gonna hear it from some folks for that comment. Lolby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Hey Rich, It's just part of living in the great white north. This is only beginning - and Winter doesn't even officially start until tomorrow. I guess Mother Nature is just trying to prep us for it early. I always enjoy the pictures from the lucky ones down south who can drive them all year. And I put about 10K miles on my favourite Boxster video to get at least a partialby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Hey Guenter, sorry to see all that snow up there, but it does look pretty! I’m resolved to still driving the car whenever the weather allows. - Richby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Not worth getting upset over. Always someone like that everywhere. Just keep enjoying your time with your family and Pcar, and remember how fortunate we are.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
