Hey guys! I have left the Boxster fold and the complexity of the 996 has bitten me in the arse! I got an '01 996 Turbo and today, I moved the power seat forward to replace the rear floormat. When I released the adjustment switch the seat continued to move forward. I heard the fuse pop when it reached the end of its travel and it would not move after that. I replaced the fuse and it blew again immby Byron in Atlanta - Main Forum
Hey guys....After many years as a Boxster guy, I recently "upgraded" to a 996 Turbo. Now, the turbo transmission has blown up and I need to liquidate this stuff to fix it! HELP!!! I went on eBay and back to the original sources to see what the value of these items is/was. I have two blown (blown-up not supercharged) 3.2L Boxster engines. I'm sure most of you know about my blowing engines fiasco! Here is my latest issue. My tag was set to expire in June and here in Atlanta, you have to pass an emissions test before you can get your tag renewed. It was May and I had just got the car running again, so I went down for the emissions test and failed. He told me that the computer wasn't "Ready". He said I should drive it a couple of hunby Byron in Atlanta - Main Forum
QuoteMikenOH SY was always one of my favorite colors on a Boxster and your mods make it look like a different car. On another subject, I guess I missed it, what was the outcome on the replacement motor that failed? Did you find out what went bang and have you replaced that motor? ....I did put another used engine in the car. This time I didn't do anything to prepare the engine. metal shavings the size of a dime. Looks as though someone with a wood plane has been inside the engine?!? This was stuck to the handy magnetic drain plug that I got from LN. Any guesses as to the cause/source of the filings and shavings?by Byron in Atlanta - Main Forum

The car was running great after I installed the replacement flywheel that Aasco sent me. I had also installed the Accusump and drove the car 40 or 50 miles around town last weekend. Everything seemed perfect. Loaded the car up for the DE at Barber this weekend. Teched out ok and I drove 4 or 5 "parade" laps to get re-familiarized with the track. Everything seemed fine. Their kit is $1100. You could likely get out cheaper by going direct to Canton Racing for just the Accusump and buying the hose and connectors separately. It took a couple of hours to install, mostly measuring and thinking through the placement of everything.by Byron in Atlanta - Main Forum
It was a pretty straightforward install. The hardest part was the plumbing of the line. I DO NOT LIKE BRAIDED STEEL HOSE!!! Looks good but a bitch to work with. I noticed that some folks did a connector at the firewall but I just drilled a hole through the firewall and ran the hose through a grommet. I wired the electric switch into the rear wiring harness in the trunk and mounted the toggle switby Byron in Atlanta - Main Forum
