If it was odorless and clear and not slippery it's water. The only thing that can produce water under the car is A/C. Any other fluid will have different characteristics (coolant is sweet smelling and slippery, power steering fluid is a clear light oil, engine oil will be dark colored oil, automatic transmission fluid is foul smelling oily, brake fluid is oily and irritates skin. You can't believe everything you read on the internet..... including this response! It will happen to ever 986/987 and 996/997. The triggers can be time/temperature/ozone/other contaminants, etc. The foam that was used (because of environmental regulations) will not last forever and will deteriorate. I've seen that most FL cars (986/996) have already lost all of the foam, as of a few years ago,by Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

Are you sure you want the glass window? I REALLY don't like it on '97-'02 Boxsters. It doesn't allow for easy engine access, it's more costly, it offers reduced rear vision, it's heavier. Reconsider. Porsche specifies a 75W‑90 gear oil for all 981 manual transaxles, including LSD cars; the dealer product is typically branded Mobil gear oil under a Porsche part number. That photo is kind of special in several ways. I got to "park" next to my Dad at Sebring. He with his 1955 MB SL300 and me with my 1998 Boxster. The newer the model year, the more complex the electronic components and therefore the more dependent they are on stable voltage/current from the battery. With the 991/981 we usually see: PSM/traction control, stability control warnings as well as "PSM failure", "PSM off" or "PSM limited" messages. Also ABS warning lights and related messages. On a 986 Boxster, the battery is not just for starting; it also stabilizes system voltage that all control units expect to see in a fairly tight window (roughly 12–14 V with engine running).
