It is frustrating to me in Germany, because my Box is noticeably stronger on the cold winter mornings, but the roads make it scarier.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
When the time comes, I will use the link, for all of my cars. I have used Tire Rack extensively in the past, because of their awesome customer service and fast delivery. I just haven't ordered since you put up the banner. Also, like someone suggested, all members could help out by simply reminding anyone who posts tire questions that the banner is there. It is so small that it is easy to forgby IFlyLow - Main Forum
Funny how a small dent in the quarterpanel is more obvious on a Bentley than, say, an Opel!by IFlyLow - Main Forum
I think Audi got it right with their LED lights. They look awesome on every grill I see. I think Porsche is getting into the game a little late, and now they just look like Audi groupies.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
So, my Blackhawk has chip detectors in both engines and all five gearboxes. They are magnetized to attract the chips, and once a chip sticks to the detector, it completes an electrical circuit which turns on a light in the cockpit, and disables bowel control for both pilots. I would pay good money for that peace of mind.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
Well, time to break into the schematics. Oh, well, I wanted a project!by IFlyLow - Main Forum
The only difference on the N rated ones is the N rated price tag!by IFlyLow - Main Forum
Laz, I think you are just wanting to see the sparks fly! Instead of inviting a debate on the merits of 30 weight, why not ask their opinion on the shear strength of titanium headlight bolts?by IFlyLow - Main Forum
Anyone had this experience? Twice in the last month, I have started my car after sitting in the sun all day; the oil guage flashes and won't give me a reading, and the fuel guage reads empty. After driving 5 miles or so, they read normally.by IFlyLow - Main Forum

The micro switch is located on the PB handle. You should be able to test it just by pressing it with your finger. IIRC, you can get to it by pulling the side piece off the lower consoleby IFlyLow - Main Forum
I really didn't think this leather could come back, but I did what you suggested. I am concentrating on the passenger side center seat insert. It had shrivelled and dried and actually shrunken about 2" in width. I have steamed and remounted onto the foam, and it is drying under a damp towel in the house. I do believe it will be close to new when it dries THANKS! I might need a pedro hat toby IFlyLow - Main Forum
awesome idea. I hadn't thought of that. I was looking at LA dismantlers, since I am leaving Germany in October. Yours might be a better route. Thanks! Pedro, I might be able to work that magic with the seats, but the door panels are shot. I will give it a try before replacing the seats, but I'm not too hopeful.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
I did my RMS without special tools, though I wouldn't recommend it. The first one went in crooked, and I had to pull it out. The second one, I thought I was careful, tapping it in with a punch, but I dented the very fragile face of the seal. I should have tried again, but I determined that the dent didn't affest the sealing surfaces. Now I wonder every day when I will have to replace it againby IFlyLow - Main Forum
I tried it, and the leatherique didn't touch it. The damage was pretty bad, and some of the leather (mostly the doors and the center insert on the seat backs) looks like bacon.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
A few months back, I water-damaged all the leather in my '01S (seats and doors). My options are to have them reupholstered professionally or replace them. If I replace them I wold possibly look for some lightly used GT3 seats. If reupholstering, I would like to accent the center part of the seat with alcantera. Anyone with suggestions? BTW, the car will be in the San Diego area when I am readby IFlyLow - Main Forum
For me, one of the best benefits of the military- I can rent a bay for $5 an hour. My home away from home! As far as experience, I just tinker, and this was the first clutch I have done. Good luck.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
+1 This would have made it easier. I supported the engine with a jack on plywood, lifting on the oil pan, and it made me very nervous to put that much weight on the pan.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
+1 on the throwout bearing. I was amazed at the difference with a new one.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
I was surprised at how easy it was. It was time consuming, but nothing very technical. I did the IMS also, and the tools supplied by LN made it super-easy. I recommend the Bentley manual for torques, and 101Projects for the narrative. Mine was on an actual lift, with a transmission jack. It might be tougher without that, but should be doable.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
Wow, Heaven. I went to the Academy for two years (Don't ask) and spent every spare weekend in the Air and Space Museum. My two loves have always been cars and aviation. I had a poster of a 930 on my desk while I was there!by IFlyLow - Main Forum
My fondest memory of the Navy is in Rescue Swimmer Training in Pensacola. Lying on our backs , doing flutter kicks in the surf, with the Blue Angels practicing overhead. 25 years ago, and it still gives me chillsby IFlyLow - Main Forum
I can't see the tool putting less strain on the bellhousing. It is still supported by one bolt, and the flywheel is the same distance (fore/aft and laterally) from the bellhousing. The difference should be minimal, but the tool would definitely be easier. I plan on contacting LN with a suggestion. The tool kit they sold with the IMS bearing was AWESOME. It could be improved, however, by incluby IFlyLow - Main Forum
I went to buy the special tool, which is about the size of a quarter. The dealer wanted...wait for it... 245 Euro (~325 Dollars)! Needless to say, I used a prybar and a bellhousing bolt. Worked like a chanp!by IFlyLow - Main Forum
So- I've been BUSY this weekend! I changed my IMS bearing. Also, new RMS seal, water pump, thermostat, belt and repacked CV joints. The bearing I pulled out looked almost new, no signs of wear or excessive play. The clutch still had about 60% surface (on 60K car). It was a Sachs clutch, which is aftermarket, correct? I bought the car with 40K on it, and I am beginning to think the first ownby IFlyLow - Main Forum
The planets aligned today, and I got a few hours to wash my car. I am happy with it, but I can see a few items to improve. I didn't notice the nasty wheel bolts until I posted this picture!by IFlyLow - Main Forum

I've read in a few diffferent places that the VIN and motor serial number aren't always a reliable indicator, and I can't afford to be without my DD for weeks, since the mail is so slow over here.by IFlyLow - Main Forum
