The dehumidifier water is for final wipedowns of the paint and glass, using an adjustable plant mister.by Laz - Main Forum
I collect "distilled" water from my dehumidifier. I check its filter from time to time, but it's not a detectable issue.by Laz - Main Forum
... perhaps one way then another in a certain combination. If I correctly recall, your car is meant to have that security feature occur after x number of days of inactivity while locked.by Laz - Main Forum
Steering wheel under tension? Try moving it a bit, while wiggling the key, then try the screwdriver again. Some combination including all three simultaneously. (A third hand available?) Maybe a paperclip will better push on what's in there.by Laz - Main Forum
Regarding my 2013 Boxster S, earlier today I noticed the (rear) trunk light seemed to be burned out. Replacing the bulb didn't help, and there was no voltage at the connector. At the time the car was in daylight. Later, with the car in the garage the bulb illuminated. (I repeatedly took the car in and out, and that was the only variable.) The frunk light works in either condition. I may've noticby Laz - Main Forum

It seemed out of reach even visualizing from underneath, let alone just taking the wheel off.by Laz - Main Forum
the cap gasket is worn. I believe the evaporative system is adversely affected by an air leak. After that it could be one of many things. Your shop should be able to read an OBD code to diagnose.by Laz - Main Forum
In the past couple years, because of code warnings coming up,* but no actual performance issues, and not wanting to get into the job myself, coils 2 and 6 were changed by the dealer. A few weeks ago, when #5 went, it was sudden and catastrophic, with the engine bogging and the car barely able to move. As you know, I changed it myself. This event prompted me to change out the remaining original coby Laz - Main Forum
Coils 1 and 3 (passenger side) are now changed out, and only coil 4 on the driver's side "needs" to be pre-emptively done, but the very-difficult-to-reach location makes it a dealer job. Thoughts on the previously mentioned loose O2 sensor: The passenger forward sensor was even looser than the other bank's. I gave the lead a bit of a ccw twist before screwing the sensor in, with the hope of countby Laz - Main Forum
The #5 coil might've gone because of heat stress from the loose pre-cat below it, but... (and not definitively knowing what path exhaust gases take) there was no soot on the coil, nor any adjacent surface. With direct injection, quite a lot is produced, as evidences by the tail pipes. Perhaps air was being pulled in, causing the O2 sensor to "see" a lean condition, and enriching the fuel-air mixtby Laz - Main Forum
Maybe it's like a waxed car car goes faster, but I swear the mpg has gone up by a few. For as much as a couple years, the car has had a slight miss at idle as evidenced by the exhaust having "bup" evey few seconds. That's gone for at least now, and the rpm range has a more turbine-like smoothness. Also, it maybe just the contrast to my trusty old CRX Si I was driving all week, but the car pulls lby Laz - Main Forum
I figured its offset would allow it to seat better on the O2 sensor's hex, as it's in a depression. My 3 / 8 socket drive universal doesn't go a full 90ยบ (do any?) so if necessary, I was going to get a "wobbler" extension to make the last few degrees, thus allowing the crow's foot to sit properly on the O2 hex.by Laz - Main Forum
Certainly the driver's side post cat, with the caveat that I didn't try it. I imagine the passenger side sensors are offset rearward (correction welcome) because of the staggered cylinder banks, perhaps making especially the pre more accessible. By the way, the #4 coil seems out of the reach of mere mortals.by Laz - Main Forum

I've gotten as far as seeing the special O2 sockets, and interestingly, a video where a 22mm crow's foot is used on a pivoting, but non ratcheting handle. Here's the crow's foot video. The pertinent part is from about 2:25 to 5:30. I think he says the normal O2 socket can be too bulky. Anyone? Pedro? Thanks. Btw, I discovered the loose sensor while removing a malfunctioning #5 coil, which, suspiby Laz - Main Forum

My well water goes through a whole house water softener, but apparently "dissolved solids" pass through. I once tried a few ounces of distilled vinegar in a gallon or so of water from my dehumidifier* as a final wipedown with some effect, but wonder if it deteriorates a wax finish or otherwise affects trim parts, etc. Glassware comes out spotless from my dishwasher, so I've contemplated trying aby Laz - Main Forum
