Earlier today when starting my 2013 Boxster S (from dead cold,) the message about low coolant came up. No signs of leaks anywhere and the cap, inside and out looks good. Can't recall when and if the level has been checked any time recently. I don't have any coolant around, "the right stuff" or otherwise, but I added distilled water... a bit more than a quart. That amount only mildly concerns me,by Laz - Main Forum

That coil is about the easiest to get to. (2, 3, and 5 are relatively accessible, too.) it's my understanding that 911s have a heat shield on each bank, but not Boxsters. (At least mine.) While your mechanic is in there, have him (her?) check the tightness of the forward O2 sensor; the other side also if you want to go for a bit more labor cost.by Laz - Main Forum
The belts and pulleys are at the front of the engine in Boxsters. (4-5-6 are on the driver's side.)by Laz - Main Forum

I'd bet on at least one ignition coil going bad. Have a perhaps more extensive code reader show you the faults associated with those symptoms, and there could be at least one ignition coil failure code. If it's a coil, don't delay changing it. One of the ones that went bad on my 13S made the car almost completely undriveable. Fortunately I was within a mile of my house with no traffic to deal witby Laz - Main Forum

As there simply aren't enough stations to my liking on either band to fill up all 3 fields, I • Vertically doubled each AM station so it's easier to poke the right one while driving; • Left the 3rd field of each band blank, so when traveling up to 12 local stations can be stored without deleting the "home" stations.by Laz - Main Forum

Yes, the ones I no longer want can be overwritten with other stations, duplicates perhaps, but can the presets be cleaned up so as to go back to blanks when no station is wanted? To my knowledge, there's no overall radio reset like the 986 had. I already poked around a bit, including trying to copy a remaining blank button, and internet searches have been uselessly irrelevant. Hmm, would pullingby Laz - Main Forum
Changing the 986 equivalents of 981 331 043 03 on my 2001 Boxster (eventually both pairs) eliminated the noise, but here's how I've described it: imagine forcefully plinking a Frisbee with your fingernails. More of a soft, somewhat hollow plonking noise, not a "clank," which I take to be a harder, metallic sound. It would occur when the car went over sharp, but not big road irregularities at lowby Laz - Main Forum
The dehumidifier water is for final wipedowns of the paint and glass, using an adjustable plant mister.by Laz - Main Forum
I collect "distilled" water from my dehumidifier. I check its filter from time to time, but it's not a detectable issue.by Laz - Main Forum
... perhaps one way then another in a certain combination. If I correctly recall, your car is meant to have that security feature occur after x number of days of inactivity while locked.by Laz - Main Forum
Steering wheel under tension? Try moving it a bit, while wiggling the key, then try the screwdriver again. Some combination including all three simultaneously. (A third hand available?) Maybe a paperclip will better push on what's in there.by Laz - Main Forum
Regarding my 2013 Boxster S, earlier today I noticed the (rear) trunk light seemed to be burned out. Replacing the bulb didn't help, and there was no voltage at the connector. At the time the car was in daylight. Later, with the car in the garage the bulb illuminated. (I repeatedly took the car in and out, and that was the only variable.) The frunk light works in either condition. I may've noticby Laz - Main Forum
