The SAI has become an issue because of the age of the vehicles. The easiest thing is to eliminate the air pump and reprogram the ECU to the RoW spec, but that's not legal in CA. BTW, CA is the only state that required the SAI but Porsche said that they would not ship two different versions to USA, so everyone else get stuck with the system! The SAI is turned on by the ECU during cold starts, so tby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

I have not, so I'm afraid I'm not able to help much with this noise. Generally whines come from gears, so think transmission/transfer case. But since you hear the whine at idle, without moving, I would discard the transfer case and look into thby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

.... PedrosBoard. Looking back at the archives I just realized that PB turned 14 last Friday (11/22/24). I remember that we were all scrambling to get the board up and running on Thanksgiving weekend 2010. An especially BIG thank you to Stefan for all the work he's done in setting up and maintaining this site. A BIG thanks to you, our members, for keeping it alive. ... safe and dry. our home is very well built. Even during 100+mph gusts you couldn't hear anything inside the house. All the roof tiles are in place as well as my solar panels which have never stopped producing electricity. With so much rain (over 22"), our pond behind the house quickly filled to the brim and then started spilling over to the cypress hammock behind it. From there it makes its waby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Looks like it’ll enter Florida just south of Sarasota so the Ft. Myers area will experience the strongest wind. North Tampa (Odessa, Brooksville, Zephyrhills…) with see the most rain. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Central Floridians. PedrosBoardby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
I live just north of the city of Tampa and at 60 feet above sea level so we were high and dry with only a few strong gusts of wind and a few squallls of rain. On the other hand, people in South Tampa, St Pete and Sarasota among others, got the worst of the flooding. ... The Boxster community lost another great enthusiast. I just learned that my dear friend Tommy Uzzo from New York passed away on the 6th. He had a very well taken care of 1997 Boxster that was his pride and joy. Some years ago he had fought cancer and the Boxster was his therapy once he was cancer free. Those errors indicate too much air in the system (vacuum leak). Carefully check all your connections in the intake. If it's not obvious you can start the engine in idle and pinpoint-spray starter fluid or carb cleaner around all of the rubber fittings. When you hit the leak the idle speed will accelerate. Debby played nice with us. Not so with the folks further south between Sarasota and Ft Myers. Some communities there are still flooded. The head of the Anclote River is just 1/2 a mile from us so all of our excess rain water that overflows our rain ponds go to the river which empties in Tarpon Springs on the Gulf. Wind wasn't bad here either. We had a few 60 mph gusts which didn't do any damage.by Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
...is in no way a DIY project. Even professional upholstery shops with decades of experience have found out and send their customer's door cards to me. Same with many, many Porsche Dealerships. When they take in a trade in that has delaminating door panels, guess where they send them. The repair is not about the adhesive, as most people believe, it's much more complex than that. There's no (environmental) debate that would hold up on the side of EV vs Hydrogen. • The destruction of tons of earth to obtain the rare earth elements and other to build a battery. • The (negative) impact on the environment from the equipment and power sources used to produce the EV batteries. • The (negative) impact when the batteries have to be discarded since now, because the low volumby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

I think Porsche went all-in, too quickly with electrification and it will backfire on them. I'm confused. The 986's emergency frunk emergency cable is not in the front left wheel well, it's under the front right headlamp. The 987s have the cable release in the front left wheel well. Even if the remote doesn't work and the battery is dead you should be able to open the left door with the physical key.
