I had a guy smack into my rear bumper a while ago. I had it taken off, refinished by a wizard, and it looked perfectly brand new. The bodywork damage I didn't have fortunately, so I feel for you. On the other hand, some jerk put a huge scrape and dent into my two week old Audi A6....by m4240z - Main Forum
I think it's part of the VW/Audi group's wizardry, as I had the same thing in an A4. Shifting was at very low RPMs, but it was actually fairly good at making sure you were in the highest gear if you weren't hoofin' it. If you were hoofin' it, it stalled off calling for an upshift, and if you were just lollyin' around, it told you to upshift. At first it was annoying, but finally, I rather likeby m4240z - Main Forum
Ah yes! Porsche's new camper prototype. Should be a market killer.by m4240z - Main Forum
Sweet ride. Sleeper car.by m4240z - Main Forum
I guess it's all relative -- it would be a big hike for me, as I'm about 100 miles north of Buffalo, but as an incremental amount from Ontario, I guess it wouldn't be that much. Amazing that you made it there and back in eighteen days.by m4240z - Main Forum
I just moved out of a 2011 A4 and am driving a 2013 A6, and they are, indeed, mass market cars. Highly competent, comfortable, and the A6 is remarkably luxurious, well put together, and quite handsome. I found the last series of A6s quite nose heavy, but the current model, in which I have the lowly 2.0T seems lighter in the nose, likely because the engine is a bit lighter, and probably tucked fby m4240z - Main Forum
I kind of figured it was in that little place -- but it's a big hike from California -- the south end is appears quite different from the end I visited which is closer to Vegas. That would be one of my bucket list drives.by m4240z - Main Forum
Nice -- where is the last photo taken from?by m4240z - Main Forum
I actually didn't find the car all that bad -- I had one for a couple of years, and I presently drive an A6, which has much more vagueness to it. But in reality, in defence of Audi, the car, particularly in non-sport form, is pretty much not a sports car, but rather a sporty sedan with few claims to be a sports car that the Boxster is. I actually found the A4s steering to be fairly accurate, aby m4240z - Main Forum

Boxsters are great cars, but let's face it, they're not the most practical if you're carrying more than one person -- so what is/are your other ride(s)? My current second (and only other) ride is an Audi A6, which is, a luxobarge, and is pretty much the distinct opposite of the Boxster. Slick fast eight speed automatic transmission, nary a whisper from the outside the passenger compartment, aby m4240z - Main Forum
I thought he was suggesting you track the ship. Which is interesting.by m4240z - Main Forum
I just did a fillup on my Boxster -- you are either quoting Imperial Gallons, or a remarkably restrained right foot.... I'm getting about 12.7l/100km -- average, but, with, admittedly, quite a bit of urban driving.by m4240z - Main Forum
That's incredible mileage -- that's like 8.5 l/100km. I'm lucky if I get 19mpg (US) or 12l/100km on average.....by m4240z - Main Forum
The IMS in my car failed at about 65,000 miles, and the engine was rebuilt, with the new Porsche IMS. Car runs great.....by m4240z - Main Forum
I really like the new order and the backstory to your car -- I wish I could be as enthused about a car as you are, as much as I like the Boxster, I'm not quite there..... My dream would be European Delivery for six months......I'd have to get rid of the last kid before that happens.....by m4240z - Main Forum

Rob -- yes, she does find it humourous now -- in fact, it was humourous then -- especially after we realized that we were walking around the area sweaty, hair mussed up from the top down ride at the noon hour..... Roger -- yes -- in fact it might indeed have been a brunette, but I think her hair was blonde at the time....by m4240z - Main Forum
There is constant talk and worry about various xMS failures, they being RMS and IMS. The RMS in my car was replace by Porsche under warranty some time ago, but the IMS was something I was totally, and blissfully unaware of, until mine failed. My tale can be different from those of others as mine failed while the car was under idle, in an underground parking garage, which brought its own challeby m4240z - Main Forum
Guenter -- don't get too excited. Freezing rain and freezing temperatures in Southern Ontario for the next few days..... I had my car away for almost two years due to a blown engine. I got the car, rebuilt engine and all last week, and it is remarkable how special the flat 6 in midship really is. That, and a fresh pair of rear tires....by m4240z - Main Forum
I have an Audi A4, which has a turbo 4, and it's the second car I've had with a turbo 4. They're smooth, powerful, and totally devoid of character.by m4240z - Main Forum
