Ummm, there was nothing sport or utility about the Caddy Escalade. It really started this ultra-high-end SUV craze. Other makes just followed suit. All the Escalade said was that I'm wasteful (fule economy) and rich. On top of that, you'd never see a basic production one. Buyers add all sorts of etremely expensive bling inside and out. That's where 20s became all the rage. Those wheels nevby db997S - Main Forum
The only one named is the former CFO: Porsche Execs Charged with Fraudby db997S - Main Forum
So, this Wall Street Hedge Fund exec who lives in Brooklyn is complaining that he can't live on his $350,000 salary because his bonus has been cut to a paltry $125,000. This isn't a joke. He was complaining about all this stuff and said that he had to drive "the Volkswagon of Super Cars," which turned out to be a 997S Cab. Don't think it was a jab at the VW takeover of Porsche, but rather a jaby db997S - Main Forum
You are forgetting that Porsche is an international company. Their Asian market is heating up big time. Also, they have to consider what a word will sound like/translate too in other languages. I believe that's why the dumped Cajun for their Pepper Petite. International marketing textbooks are littered with examples of popular US products that never took off in foreign lands, mainly to theirby db997S - Main Forum
To me, there's no question, any 2009 or later that you can find. It will cost more, but no IMS to worry about, which could make it cheaper in the long haul if you put in the LN fix or, gasp, a new engine if the IMS goes. Plus, you'll still have some warranty left on it. The down side, there are fewer out there due to the coming 981 and financial crisis, so prices maybe higher. When I was lookby db997S - Main Forum

I really like my Garmin Nuvi. But, you should also look into the TomTom. You can download different voices for a TomTom, such as Homer Simpson or Mr. T. Portable ones are a hassel as you don't want to leave any indication that you have a portable GPS in your car (window or dash mount). Criminals smash windows all the time if they see any signs of a portable Nav in a car. it's a quick $50 andby db997S - Main Forum
Usually you hear the word "iconic" when talking about the 911, not "mundane." I guess 1979 was a different time. Disco ruled, so that should tell us someting about the era.by db997S - Main Forum
Not sure if the Buick thing is for enthusiats, or if their car buyers are the only ones around now who know how to drive a stick. The Utes of today, don't learn it anymore as the video games are all push button.by db997S - Main Forum

why does a free exhaust system cost money ($54.50 or $69.50)? Shouldn't it be at no cost?by db997S - Main Forum
Could it be a fuel pump or filter issue? It doesn't take a noticeble leak to smell gas. If it is seeping a bit, most of it will evaporate and you wouldn't see a stain on the garage floor. Older cars, the filter used to be the first thing to check with gas odor.by db997S - Main Forum

Believe that aired in the Super Bowl. Is J.Lo out? She should be. The car is so small, I could never figure out how she got her oversized butt in it.by db997S - Main Forum
I purchased two Porsches out of state and over the Net. Both cases were extremely easy. The first was my original '98 Boxster (six month wait locally, half that in CT). My' 09 997S Cab was purchased at the same CT dealership, also over the Net. This time, the car was on the lot. Local dealers weren't dealing at all. Funny, usually the 3-day bearded, smug guy is pitching pickups and SUVs. Maybe the ad agency figures that one worked so well on dumb Americans once, it'll work again. Why else with rising gas prices would people still be buying these gas guzzlers? Regarding the Camry, it's a really nice family car (obviously, Toyota wants to move away from that with the current ad), and the V-6 is a tremendousby db997S - Main Forum
I suppose the author never upgrades his computer, either, because in a couple more years, the maker will add more memory, power, in a more efficient package. Yes, there's a difference between a couple hundred dollar computer and a $100K car, but the concept is the same. In his theory, you should wait until the last model year when all has been wrung out of it, but that is flawed, too, as the neby db997S - Main Forum
Here's some video of a guy doing a bunch of 200+ mph runs supposedly in Mexico, but at the end of the video he's stopped by AZ highway patrol. Not too smart to do this on public roads, even dumber to video tape it: Veyron high-speed run videoby db997S - Main Forum

Congrats. That's 10 times around the equator. You should have pulled a Pedro, though, and hit the trip computer to 000 at 249,750 miles, and then waited until 2:50 p.m., and since the car can't go 250 mph, taken the shot going 25 mph. In case i lost you, that's a lot of 25s and 0s in the shot.by db997S - Main Forum
Heck, even my Blackberry clip holster is a PITA in the car. Couldn't imagine a bulky firearm. Not sure what you mean by strong side, but if that's the left side for a right handed person, would a holster that could keep the gun parallel to the ground while standing work (so the barrel is facing the back of the seat, not the bottom while seated). I guess, it depends on the size of the gun, too?by db997S - Main Forum
Correct, keep the load light, don't lug the engine, coast down hill (aren't any in north, central OH) and try and get to a safe place to pull over. Just don't keep going balls to the walls until the engine breaks into a bunch of little pieces. Even if limping along eventually kills the engine, at least you may not be stranded in an unsafe situation. In my case, that could have been going the mby db997S - Main Forum
With the cost of replacing an engine, you'd say that, or if you were ever stranded in the middle of nowhere due to an IMS issue. When mine went at 10,001 miles (only one DE event), I was on my way from DC to Chicago for a Cubs Playoff--tells you how long ago that was (2003). I stopped in Toledo at about 1:00 in the morning in October. East of there is nothing but blackness. I stopped to pay tby db997S - Main Forum
Best to wait for the car to be warmed up before doing so. Need to strech their legs ever so often. Not paying attention on down shifts, however, can toast these engines as I believe the limiter doesn't kick in on down shifts.by db997S - Main Forum
