That area has a high number of one-percenters per capita, so if the work isn't good, the customer service aspect should atleast be fantastic.by db997S - Main Forum
The whimpy little spoiler and it's mechanism reminds me of the Chrysler Crossfire's flimsy looking spoiler. The Boxster's looks like it may get blown off at top speed.by db997S - Main Forum
When I hooked up my ipod to my 2002, doing so disabled the CD changer in the trunk as that occupied the only auxillary port in the unit. The dealer can do your autolocks. Probably an indie can, too, next time you have it in the shop.by db997S - Main Forum
Don't like the spoiler. Looks too flying saucerish and breaks up the clean lines of the rear and the roll bars look like they raided BMW's Z4 parts bin. But, if the underskin improvements are anything close to how Porsche improved the 911, that could mean only good things for driving. Hard to imagine improving the driveability of the Boxster.by db997S - Main Forum
It's the James Dean syndrome. That's what supposedly got him killed by the dude turning left. On a hot, sunny California road, didn't see that Silver Lil' Bastard due to the heat waves coming off the pavement. Plus, I agree, it's drivers these days. They tool around thinking that they are the only ones in world. We all have brain frats from time to time, but mostly it's simply bad driving.by db997S - Main Forum
If you're afraid to drive it, you shouldn't have brought it, I say. Porsche has always touted that their cars can be driven to the track. The only possible problem with the GT3 is how low they are. Can get nose scrapes if not cafeful. Think they impoved that on newest model. Thought I read there's a way to raise it a half an inch or something like that. It could be that Porsche put the five-cluster in so the drivers could get the extra readings during real-world testing instead of waiting for the download from the computers.by db997S - Main Forum
No, the philosophy at Porsche/VW is to put more distance between the Boxster and the 911. Having five dials would move them closer.by db997S - Main Forum
Does Ferrari make right-hand drive cars? If not, that could have come into play since Japan is like Great Britian in driving on the "wrong" side of the road.by db997S - Main Forum

Just saw a piece in the National Post that flying into ATL Porsche enthusiats will be able to find the new buidling, which breaks ground early next year. The top of the atrium will sport the Porsche crest. Not sure if it will have colored glass, but pretty cool feature. The building itself will cost between $80 and $100 million. If you have a neighbor who is doing considerable construction--new addition, even a tear down of an old house--then chances are, these critters will be looking for new/quiter places to live. Your garage may just be the ticket. Also, now that it's winter, they may be looking for warmer places. I've got bait in my garage. It's getting to the point where one cannot desplay any signs of wealth. Doesn't matter if you give to charities (time and/or money), just because you have some extra scratch to spend on nice things, you are now considered evil. I know here in the US, a lot of times it's the mindset that is the difference. My wife and I own a Porsche, her nephew, who dropped out of highschool and drifts from jobby db997S - Main Forum
Yes, lazy English, similar to droppin' the "Gs" off the end of words. Should have, became should've since it is easier to pronounce, but it has morphed into should of. --dbby db997S - Main Forum
The one and only pix with the top up makes it seem pretty smooth from door to door, no ribs. Still think the rumors may be correct. Sure, it's not a metal folding top, but a lightweight composite skimmed with cloth to make it look like a ragtop may be just the ticket. With the "hump" at the back of the 911 Cab, to store the top, it would look too odd for a metal folding top. The traditional 9by db997S - Main Forum
of canvass and plastic so that it will look like a ragtop, but actually be a "hardtop." So, the top will be smooth and not have the ribs from the folding mechanism that you see in canvass tops. Keeps the look, but the smoothness of the top helps with aerodynamics and better fit. For folding purposes, the "top" section of the roof will be a plastic composite material skinned with fabric, whileby db997S - Main Forum

I just put a pair of the Extreme Contact DWS on the rears of my 997S (19 inch) (PS2s came with the car). Still have the PS2s on the front. Regular driving is much better with the Exteme Contact, even compared when the car new two years ago, but I am not as confident in hard driving with them on the back. They've gotten a little better with time (about 800 miles). Even so, the rear seems to fiby db997S - Main Forum

Welcome back into the fold. I have a 2009 997S Cab, with PDK (same reasons you have Tip, too much car to justify only one driver). Much different than the Boxster. Took longer to get used to than my first Boxster (11 years of Boxster ownership as daily driver had an impact, too). I really do enjoy the 911. It has a different feel, but it is a driver's car. I really would miss the extra guagby db997S - Main Forum
It's been many, many years since I looked at an SLK, but was not impressed. Granted, it was not the AMG. I think the new Ford Mustang's V8 is up there in power, too, but I wouldn't consider it competition for the Boxster. Like the Boxster S, or BMW Ms, I think the sales will come from those already looking at an SLK, but deciding to go for the power and extra goodies.by db997S - Main Forum

October 2011 sales were up 8.6% from a year earlier. For the calendar year 2011, sales are up 28% from the same period last year. Asia and China are leading the surge. In Oct. 2011, sales the US were actually down 16% for the month compared with a year ago. China was up 53% to 1,546 units for the month. That compares with 2,270 in the US for October.
