Not Mark, here, but my wife likes getting in and out of my 997 much better than my 986. She'd complain all the time about getting in and out of the Boxster. First time she sat in the 997, she mentioned how much better it was than the Boxster to get in and out of.by db997S - Main Forum
Yeah, I watched it recently too, but while it is a bit of a beater (think it wasn't even four-years old when movie was shot) it seems like that nice comfy faded, pair of blue jeans. Look forward to the day my shinny new car ages. Hopefully, better than Nick's in the Big Chill, though.by db997S - Main Forum
Does it count if I drove my Porsche to a historic place, but didn't snap a shot with it in the foreground? Cuz I have this one from Summer 2011:by db997S - Main Forum

So, I take it that you wouldn't keep the Boxster then? Hard to tell from your post, but I'd imagine you'd give it up since you drive so few miles. Check to see if your clubs will fit in a 911 coupe. Me personally, I would stay away from the pre-2009 engines. That IMS thing would haunt me (once bitten, twice shy) and is one of the reasons I traded in my 02 SYS for a 2009 997S Cab. Those ugly fins in the side vents are finally gone. Looks like the Turbo's vents are being used. I've always hated those fins, especially on the 987s. They were way more pronounced in that silver color.by db997S - Main Forum
The current ones, particularly the TL, just seem big and clunky. Sort of like the Fantastic Four character who turns into Rock.by db997S - Main Forum
So, what's the physic's lesson? You can reduce lift without increasing downforce by disrupting airflow, but wouldn't increased downforce also reduce lift? Seems like a chicken and egg type of issue and has always confused me.by db997S - Main Forum

Agree with the back end. Used to be one of the better attributes of the Boxster. Don't like that spoiler going into the tail lights. Kind of reminds me of an older six series rear end, particularly from viewing above, like Geunther posted pix below.by db997S - Main Forum
Much improved. Like the interegration of the sports chrono. No longer an ugly wart. Even the interior door pulls like nicer.by db997S - Main Forum
Don't belive so. There is so much more to Porsche than just the cars/SUVs. So, think they'll strip it down and take the cars/SUVs and then try for the other bits and pieces as the legal wrangling works its way through the system.by db997S - Main Forum

My wife is on her second Prius. Says it's her dream car. Glad only one of us has expensive tastes in cars. My 997 did pretty well on Monday night. Was surprised, but I changed tires to a little less performance. With my old Michelins, I'd never have made it home.by db997S - Main Forum

I don't think that has to do with the first year of a new plant. The first year of the Boxster were fine. Its problems had to do with things outside of the plant (porous engine blocks from an outside supplier) or poor design (cylinder sleeves). The build quality of my car built in August 1998, was very good. No problems with the car. The water cooled engines have been through the ringer now.by db997S - Main Forum

Mine went at 10,001 miles. My mounts would have to have been bad from the get go for your theory to hold true, at least in all cases. I never felt excess vibrations in my car. --dbby db997S - Main Forum
Unfortunately, SUVs are still king in the US of A. The Boxster is the bastard child of the Porsche line up. It gets no respect from the company even though it is constantly touted by auto critics as the best of the Porsche line up. But, pricing is one of the reasons I jumped from a Boxster S to a 911 S Cab two years ago. Even in the dregs of the financial crisis, dealers weren't dealing on Boby db997S - Main Forum
No, I have not noticed any spotting in the two years that I've owned the car, wonder if the spotting is due to their choice of Leather conditioner/cleaner. The system works even when the AC is not on auto. In the summer, I have the top down in 95 degree heat with the AC running on manual (floor and vent option selected) and the seats on. I actually went home for lunch today and tried the ventiby db997S - Main Forum
I have them in my 997S Cab and they are fantastic. Not sure why they are needed with the AC option as what happens is each seat has a fan in it, the fan sucks the air away from the seat, which basically draws your bodyheat away from your backside. They are not AC seats. I don't find them that noisy, but my cabin maybe a bit noiser than a coupe's. You can hear the fan, but it is more backgrounby db997S - Main Forum

They also got the price horribly wrong. Isn't it more liked in the mid- to hi-$300s? They had it at $200K.by db997S - Main Forum
