I was into old cars when a friend showed up in a 356 cab. I'd had a VW and a TR3. I was impressed by the handling, performance and quality. Had to have one. First Porsche was a 1954 1300S cabriolet. ( I was working for a VW dealer at the time). Car is now in Germany, restored, valued at 400000 euros. Got to drive it again a few years ago, in Germany. Have owned 14 Porsches. To change the oil in Porsche Carrara 6, (906), first remove engine. There was a GM model that you had to remove the engine or steering to change some spark plugs on the V8. To replace the clutch on a Lotus Elan, remove the engine and maybe the transmission and floor pan. In an MG TD transmission, the shift rod detents were not captured. Pull the rods out and the balls and springs would launch inby Ed B - Main Forum
In NH most businesses are still closed. Some restaurants are doing take out. Essential businesses (construction, hardware stores, liquor stores, grocery stores, car repair shops, etc. are on reduced hours.) Our grocery store has special a special hour for senior citizens only. One way isles, 6ft markers on the floor. Social distancing and face masks recommended. Yes, but we get a lot of snow & ice here. Winter fun is provided by an '00 Audi S4, an '07 Aud A3 3.2 Quattro and an F250 diesel PU with a plow. There is always the Case back hoe/loader if things get really bad. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Sad time. Daylight savings is over, the Porsches are sleeping for the winter, and snow is predicted for Thursday. For skiers out there, Killington Vt is open. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Similar problem with my '07 Audi A3. Spare key not used for several years. Led on the remote would light but not unlock/lock the car. From the owner's manual, push the unlock button and immediately put the key in the door lock and unlock the door. It worked. The remote is now OK. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Some time ago I posted that the ignition key in my '04 GT 3 became very hard to turn. (same as Boxster unit). My good friend Damon, Series 900, Sunapee NH, claimed it was the electrical part of the switch. I wasn't so sure. I tried to remove the switch, but I'm not flexible enough, so Damon came to help. (I help him in his Porsche body shop occasionally). Not the switch. We removed the key/tumby Ed B - Main Forum
Code 4266 is "return pump fault". This is a failure of the ABS. From the shop manual;" no feedback signal (return-pump monitoring ) to the control module." I'd send you a copy of the page, (40 - D 30) that has some PST 2 instructions if I knew how to attach it. I can send it to your email address. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
There is an 18 hole golf course up for auction in Newport NH at the end of the month, if you are interested. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
It's not thawing out in central NH. Snow, rain and frizzing rain yesterday. More rain and maybe snow tonight. Might get a little sun on Thursday Ed B.by Ed B - Main Forum
Instrument cluster that worked had physical damage. Swapped mother boards between clusters and neither worked. Swapped boards back but still had an issue with the undamaged board. Foun a ribbon connector not complete seated. Now both clusters work! Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Tried a different instrument cluster and everything works! Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum

I think we have done that .Present plan is to finish other items, fill it with gas and drive it and see what shows up. Then repeat the calibration procedure. I'll post when we know something. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Yes, fuel level sensor system. We have done all that and get an error message on the PST2 when try to confirm calibration. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
I'm helping my local Porsche body shop on a 2002 996 Turbo. Front end fire in the driveway. Not running at the time. Fire didn't get as far as gas tank but lots of melted wires and plastic. Radiator fan is suspect. Donor crashed Turbo has supplied wire harness and other parts. ABS unit replaced and recoded with my PST2. Tried to reset and re calibrate gas gage per factory manual and get errorby Ed B - Main Forum
I think many of us are hibernating. We just got 13" of heavy wet snow. My plow truck got stuck. Pulled it out with my back hoe and then the back hoe couldn't make it up the driveway. Had to put chains on it in the snow. Have to move more snow today. And we lost power for four hours. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
This s in the '04 GT3, Same switch as the Boxster. The car isn't driven much, It's got 13k miles on it. When I went to start it after a long winter's nap, the key was very hard to turn. Turning the wheel to take the pressure off had no effect. It was not like the steering wheel lock was against the pin. After a several hour drive with a couple of stops and restarts, it is still extremely stiff.by Ed B - Main Forum
When the fan speed dropped, the cabin temp definitely went up. Outside temp was in the 90's. Fan speed bar graph didn't change. Cold air still coming from vents but no volume. Your comment on the passenger side temp sensor is interesting. Wife had her iPhone on thanks, a mount on the right vent. We are having rain for a week. I'll test it when we dry out. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
The outside temp sensor reads correctly on the instrument panel. I'll check the cabin sensor. I was using a V1 and a dash cam. Interference? Thanks, Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
We took the 00 Boxster S to the parade. Lots o 90 plus temps. On auto setting, A/C always blew cold, but periodically it seems that the fan would drop to low speed. Reducing the temp four or five degrees would eventually increase fan speed. Setting the temp beck to normal,(auto) worked OK until the cycle repeated in about half a hour. Any ideas? Fan resistor? When the ignition switch fails to operate the starter on your manual transmission Boxster, check your floor mat, It can prevent the clutch pedal from operating the clutch interlock switch. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Most be the season for new toys. During bad weather, I sometimes scan car/truck ads on line. Bad habit. My 2007 F250 diesel PU has needed more than the usual maintenance lately, so I was looking at new/used ones. Local dealer had one with just the right options. Forced myself to look at it. Better seats, quieter, 800 lb-ft of torque. After an hour or two of negotiation we settled on a price. (Tby Ed B - Main Forum
