I had one break on the passenger side seat. I picked up some epoxy putty and glued it back together and added another dab of the stuff to hold it more securely to the seat rail. Cost for the repair: $2.50by jg wnc - Main Forum
From one of our North Georgia mounting drives a few years back: Driver had a few scratches from the bushes, but otherwise unharmed. Not sure what happened to the Boxster remains. When he rolled the car, the top was down and when the car was taken to the wrecker yard, he was able to raise and latch the top!by jg wnc - Main Forum
Sorry guys. You are correct. It has been 20 years since I messed with the adjustable sway bars on my FF. Maybe I needed another cup of coffee before I responded. As you noted the problem with the bushing on the front sway bar, by all means correct any known problems and then reassess the situation. Sounds like you are already on top of that. I have done a far amount of AXing in my 986S, andby jg wnc - Main Forum
If you are oversteering, that means that the back end is losing grip before the front end does. When trying to cure a handling problem, it is best to address the end of the car that is having the problem rather than trying to take grip away from the front to make it more neutral (though that is an option if all else fails). A few questions: Does it oversteer in both fast and slow corners? Isby jg wnc - Main Forum
For such a small item to repair, this was a real PIA! One of the bulbs had burned out in the vanity light on the driver's side sun visor. Opening up the vanity assembly is pretty straightforward. There are two plastic tabs that clip on the top, one on each side, and another at the bottom. I used a small screwdriver to pry the cover off. CAUTION: Once you get the cover loose, the bulbs willby jg wnc - Main Forum
Come to BRBS and stay at the Mast Farm Inn and they'll rent this 550 replica to you. (This was from 2008. Not sure if this is still offered or operating.....)by jg wnc - Main Forum
We had a shepherd-collie mix that was with us for 18 years. Absolutely terrific dog. I am sure you have some wonderful memories. We rescued Doug, a Bassett, from our daughter a few years ago - another terrific dog, but will never replace the shepherd.by jg wnc - Main Forum
When are you going to ditch the amber side markers?by jg wnc - Main Forum
My '02S is still running strong. I check the oil filter every time I change oil, and so far no sign of anything suggesting any kind of problem. The claim form has to be returned by October 15. So far, I have no claim, but I'll hang onto the information just in case.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Turned out to be a failed vacuum reservoir. It is located on top of the engine on the passenger side. I think Pedro just removed this item and reprograms the car as euro-spec and the problem is solved. Or you can replace the reservoir. While I was poking around trying to diagnose this problem, I found a broken vacuum line near the reservoir. BTW these codes are also used to report failure ofby jg wnc - Main Forum
And they never discussed luggage capacity with that hard top folded in the Bimmer. They called a tie in the looks, but I have always felt that the Z4 was ugly!by jg wnc - Main Forum
If you poke around the car, you will find other parts with the same logo stamped into/onto them.by jg wnc - Main Forum
When did you replace the motor mount? It it was around 40K miles, there's a good possibility that it is kaput again.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Sounds absolutely fabulous! I too am craving a 981, but I am too cheap to buy new. I'll wait a couple years and buy a used one that is equipped close to what I am looking for. On another note...... Thought you might enjoy this from the Porsche museum:by jg wnc - Main Forum
That's my kind of retirement!by jg wnc - Main Forum
Glad you are having nice weather in SoCal. It has been crap in ATL. It is almost the first of May and feels like the first of March. I have been able to drop my top maybe 2-3 times so far this spring. It has been a cold and wet spring with the jet stream dipping into the South. Hope it moves on before BRBS, otherwise you will be shivering during the day and at night. BTW, glad you got a rooby jg wnc - Main Forum
Remove the plastic plate by the filler and it is visible just below the filler. I belive it has an o-ring in it, and the o-ring can go bad.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Sorry, but a turbo 4 just doesn't really excite me. If they want to put that in the baby Boxster - fine, but not in a car that has established a pretty good pedigree for itself over the years. Also, I doubt very much that they would allow it to reach 350hp. It is the same as the 991 and even if they up the 991 - it will be too close.by jg wnc - Main Forum
So someone should be getting a call from Switzerland Inn that a room has opened up. Hate to miss this year. See ya'll in 2014!by jg wnc - Main Forum

Initially the low beams would not come on when I turned the switch. I could pull the lever and get the high beams to come on, and after a few pulls the low beams would finally turn on. After a few more days, I could not get the low beams to come on at all - like you I had to run with my fog lights. Ended up replacing the switch - directions on Pedro's site are excellent - and the problem was fby jg wnc - Main Forum
There was concern by the team that the tires might not hold up for the remaining laps if they were pushed - specifically they were afraid of what happend to Hamilton in Free Practice with his tire delaminating after he pushed it too hard. Also the drivers had been told to turn back engine performance in order to reduce the stress on the engines and to save them for the next race. Weber dialed hby jg wnc - Main Forum
I'll be there too along with a buddy. We'll look for you in the Porsche tent, Rev! I'll be in Galdalf - my 02 Seal Gray S.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Not sure if he runs any SCCA events, but it looks like he could be legal in SCCA stock as long as he runs the stock wheels.by jg wnc - Main Forum
SCCA Stock class is really hard on Boxster(S). To be the least bit competitive in SCCA, you have to run R compound tires. And since they allow sway bar and shock replacement in stock class, you pretty much have to do all that too. I never run SCCA here in ATL for the reason that the stock class is not even close to stock. The new street tire classes could be a little bit interesting. I alwayby jg wnc - Main Forum
