I am around 43,000 miles and will be hitting the end of warranty around April or May. I would sure like to get it replaced by the dealer rather having to pay for it myself when I go over 50,000.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Wow - thanks for the very useful guide. The track should put a link to it on its website. We will definitely be there. mikeby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I;d like to do the Sebring Race as well - but unfortunately, it conflicts with a fishing trip to Patagonia. Its tough work but someone's got to do it!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I just received an email from the Carolinas & Peachstate PCA regions about the Daytona race in January. Dianne and I are thinking about going to it. We have never been to a 24 hours race before. We will probably stay in one of the rooms reserved by the region. Any suggestions on how best to enjoy the race and getting around? Anyone on the board planning on attending?by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

What a day! We are on a grand road trip from NC to Richmond to NYC to Quebec to Syracuse to Niagara Falls etc. Today, after a wonderful picnic lunch on the banks of the St Lawrence River about 100 miles from Quebec, we returned to the Boxster to be greeted with the message: "tyre flat". After figuring out which which one was low (left rear was 15 lbs low), I decided to pump it up with the Porby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Pretty neat! I wonder how it is against side impact, though. I have a feeling not so hot!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I went to a "car show" benefit in Cahsiers, NC a couple of weeks ago. Mostly Jags - but there were TWO 300SL gullwings. Considering how few were produced, I thought that was pretty amazing. Both were local cars.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I just noticed an article that said the base Carrera would have the 3.4 engine with 350 hp. Based upon that, I think it is extremely unlikely the Boxster will have 365 hp! Of course, I suppose this is still all "educated guesses".by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

what is the likelihood that a warranty company would even know about the magnetic drain plug if you don't volunteer the information. It is not likely a mechanic would take notice of it, much less report it, when he is dealing with blown engine.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I;d go for a flat 6 Boxster with 400 hp!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
A 4 cylinder engine with 365 hp? I wonder. I have my doubts. Unless there is very large hp increase in the base Carrera, that might make the Boxster faster than the base Carrera. Porsche has always tried to keep Boxster performance around 40 or 50 hp less than the Carrera. I know I would be less inclined to purchase a 4 banger Boxster.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
On one occasion I was able to use the CTEK to get back to a level where I could open the front trunk and start the car. However, the battery was not totally dead - although close to it I could get one or two clicks on the starter but the trunk would not open.- . I hooked up the CTEK and it charged it enough overnight to get the job done.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Quotedb997S Another big difference is the S vs the Base. It doesn't sound as though that is a big factor for you. For some, it is. I think both of them are "S". Wasn't the 2008 Limited Edition basically an "S" with a lot of cosmetics and a bright orange paint job? mikeby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
What you say is true in many states. However, the situation I am talking about is where the other party is insured and the insurance company denies liability and either no one is charged by the police or the other insurance company denies liability. In either case, unless you want to go to the trouble to sue the other party, you pretty much have to go through your own insurance (with its deductby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
My understanding is that the 2012 is pretty much the same as the 2011. The big changes will be coming next year with the 2013.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
You do if neither party is charged, the other party's insurance company denied liabilty and you don't want to have to sue the other party to prove you are right. Under my policy there was a $500 deductible. In this case my insurance company took the subrogation claim to arbitraton agaisnt the other insurance company and won.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
your insurance company will get your $1000 for you. A few years ago, my company recovered my $500 deductible in their subrogation claim against the "perp" and refunded it to me.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
