Sounds like you've used your headlight washer system as often as I have. Tried it once and decided that it would do well as a quicky car wash. I think the wheels and bottom of the bumpers where the only parts not sprayed.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

QuoteBobtesa Yes, as Gunter shows (thanks, why had I not noticed that?), there is a "bar to high" for the oil level readout. But, still, if I run out of gas it is an inconvenience. If I run out of oil, or run way low and the digital sensors are on the fritz, I may have a seriious problem. In my 99 I looked at the digit readout pretty much prior to each start up. And, I also checked the dipstiby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
QuoteNaples996 As an example the doctor said some oil or water on the road create glare that would be eliminated by the Polarized glasses. He said the great properties that Polarized lens have for water related activities don't always transfer to other uses where being able to see a contrast is needed. I don't remember which countries outlaw them, we had that conversation last year. This yearby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
this when full. If the narrow top bar is filled, you oil level is too high.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
QuoteNaples996 for driving since they eliminate reflections/glare of things on the road you need to see, per my doctor. He says driving with Polarized glasses is outlawed in some countries because of this danger. I read some post on other sites that also complained about not seeing the dash clearly because of the Polarized effect. Did you doctor mention any reflection/glare that you would wantby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

Quoteboxtaboy The car just felt so right. That's what I love about the Boxster. EVERYTHING is just where it's supposed to be if you love to drive. The seat, the shifter, the wheel. Whatever you're using at the moment is RIGHT there. Man, I love to drive this car. Next thing I know, you're going to be telling us that you just can't wait to go to work (at least the drive ) Just don't tell youby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Yessiree. 4.5 months. Then a short topless drive in a Boxster on a Spring day, sure can change things. Just glad your wife talked you into keeping it. Glad to hear you're finally getting some nice weather to enjoy that Symphony in Flat Six again. We got out for another drive today. Not as warm as yesterday, but hey, 60 degrees is way better than we've had for the past 5 months or so. Tookby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Had an unexpected TERRIFIC day here in southern Ontario. Sunshine and 73 F after weeks of struggling to get into the 40's. Couldn't pass that up, so we took a drive to check out some things for a special run next weekend. Some things just look better than others. Stopping to get a fix for a sweet tooth. ....and off course, have to stop to taste a little wine.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Hard to believe but we had LV weather here today. We hit 73 F and sunshine!!! The Lexus has nice lines from the side. Not crazy about the back. Looks kind of kitcarish. Love the MB Gullwing. It's a classic beauty. That 68/69 Corvette looks great. To me that's the best looking model they ever made. After that they just seemed to get bigger and bigger. Thanks for posting.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
I bought the Oakley Polarized Flak Jacket XLJs last year and love them for driving for the following reasons: - polarizing gets rid of any reflection of the dash in the windshield, which to me is a big safety issue - no frame on the lower side gives me increased peripheral vision - lenses can easily be changed, so if you want two different kinds of lenses you don't have to have two pair of sby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

QuoteLawdevil I guess it depends on where you are. I recall in Naples traffic lights were considered "advisory". I have found bad drivers everywhere. I think IFlyLow is refering to drivers in Germany. Italy, as I've been told, is a whole other story. I recall my sister felt Italian drivers were really bad. Her car was even rearended by a garbage truck while driving in Rome.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Quoteold timer yes it's pretty clear that Americans are inferior to drivers elsewhere Not sure that American (and I include Canadian) drivers (in general) are inferior to all other countries, but they sure don't follow the rules of the road the way they do in Germany, basing on our experience of driving in Germany 11 years ago. Even the day I rented a 996 and had it up to speed (150 mph) on theby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
QuoteClarkaddison On many autobahn routes the entire right lane is taken over by a train of trucks from all over Europe. That leaves only one lane for cars. You are lucky to go 60 mph. Yes. The trucks are limited to either 90 or 100 kph (63 mph) and are not allowed to use the other lanes. (At least that's the way it was 11 years ago.) I think it makes it so much safer. Sorry to hear of the damage to your car. That's a real bummer. I don't know if Dent Doctor (or some form of dent removal) might be able to repair the dent. some people have reported excelent results. Can you take a picture and post it here? It might make it easier for people to come up with a suggestion.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

QuoteAS2003 I'm sure the base has a 6-speed. For some reason Porsche never changed the web data for the base from a 5-speed to a 6-speed with the turnover to the 987.2 in 2009. You could be right. I was just wondering with all the rumours about turbo 4's in the Boxster to improve fuel economy and emissions, that maybe they might also go back to a 5 speed. Time will tell.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
