For my car at least, I've tried to get it to engage while sliding without gas. The test is relatively easy to do with snowy roads. So far, I've never managed to get it to engage without my foot on the gas. I think I've actually been doing this without both gas and brake (induce a slide, lift both feet and steer in a direction that the car isn't going...no light and no noticeable correction). Over here in Iowa we have our first batch of long-lived snow and ice. I've been having fun demonstrating what antilock breaks and PSM do for friends. Something occurred to me about PSM that I wanted to check here. Is it true that your foot has to be on the gas for PSM to engage? I've been trying to get it to engage without my foot on the gas, but haven't had any luck so far. It really does anby Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
I'm going to change the oil on my 2003 boxster with 100k miles on it. I've always (for the about 50k miles that I've had the car for) used the uninspired oil choice of mobil 1 0w40. I know that others sometimes use something else for higher mileages, and thought I might give it a shot. I know there are numerous oil threads here and elsewhere, but thought I'd just ask: what is the equivalently uby Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
The 2003 boxster is for warmer days, and the 2007 cayman is my practical winter car.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum

Surely we could come up with a thousand people who would chip in 1k each. Oh wait, insurance. Make that 2k each.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
Are the folks who maintain them typically extra careful about having level terrain surrounding the track?by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
A friend was scolding me about how dangerous convertibles are, and I got to wondering how hard it would be to roll one. I assumed it would be pretty difficult. Turns out, someone has a clip of what it looks like on youtube. For the curious....by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum

left of the 981 was an empty space, and right of the 987 was a recent model mustang. other disclosures, at the time of the shot, the 981 had a lot more dirt on it than the 987. Also, the original owner of my 987 put in stiffer and shorter eibach springs, lowering it. I prefer the factory springs, but reversing the work is too costly for me.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum

For all the talk about handling and power, during long trips I feel like the double trunk storage space is the true secret weapon. Still wish there was a spare in the beyond 986 cars.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
By chance, I parked next to this 981 at the elephant seal beach near Hearst castle, during my trek from Pasadena back to Iowa. I'm biased, but I still prefer the 987's butt, especially in cayman.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum

I'm about to replace the oil pressure sensor on my 2003 base boxster. I'm ordering the sensor itself, and wondering if I also need to order some kind of gasket or seal. Anyone experienced with this job know if there's a seal that is also replaced? Just unscrewing the sensor, then screwing another one into place seems to simple. Then again, maybe this is why mine is leaking oil...by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum

I once went to an early morning cars and coffee thing, i think on a sunday near LA. It was a sort of regular gathering in a stripmall parking lot off the 101 out toward thousand oaks. Does anyone know the event I mean, and whether or not it still happens?by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
Please don't drive it over any dirt or puddles. Keep that underside sparkling Somewhere I saw a video talking about how they get the engine noise into the cabin of 911s. I remember a sort of plastic membrane looking thing that functioned like a speaker, driven only by the air behind it without any air passing from engine compartment to passenger compartment. Wonder if it's the same thing.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
Parked across the street from this (that fuzzy redness in the top left is my cayman) And, stopped into the dealership to ask about some costs and found that you can now watch repairs from the waiting area. i was impressed by the white tiled floor. that's optimism.by Steve (Morro Bay) - Main Forum
