Thanks a bunch. My dealer also said that he can get the code once he knows the serial number of the radio, i.e. remove the radio and peak at the back of it. I will pass this info onto my neighbour. Alexby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Howdy, It has been too long since I was last on the board. Ever since I bought my 997TT I've been hanging out at other places. My neighbour has an '02 Boxster S. He let his battery die this winter and now his radio doesn't work. He bought the car used without a code. How does one go about getting the proper code for his radio? Thanks in advance for your help. I've been away a long time, but I lurk occasionally to keep abreast of my old friends and anything new with the 981. Alberta Alexby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Sorry for not responding sooner. I've been up to my ears in planning our house Reno. I'll get the pics and post them in the next few days, if you are still interested. Alexby Alberta Alex - Parts for Sale
Last month my wife and I, and five other couples from our local PCA region (Polar) visited the Ruf factory in Pfaffenhausen. We had a fabulous 3.5 Hour tour of their small but very productive factory. Unfortunately, Alois was not in the day we were there. At the end of the tour, we were each given a copy of the History of Ruf 2011 DVD. I have not watched it yet. I've been saving it for the rightby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Mark, It has been a while since I have been on the board. The last time I read the board, you had a 996TT as well as your Boxster. Do you still have the TT? I ask because, if you do, I'm surprised at your comment about a possible RMS leak. I was under the impression that the GT1 block was not susceptible to RMS leaks or IMS issues. The TT's robustness is one of the reasons that I sold my '01S inby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
QuoteRedNRad Hi Hardtop Wall Mount and Hardtop cover still available? Please advise Ty! Ty, if Nick has sold his OEM wall mount and OEM cover, I have both for sale. Pics available upon request. Alberta Alexby Alberta Alex - Parts for Sale
All six cars were PDKs. Although I can see the advantages of the PDK on the track, I'm still an old school clutch guy. A manual may not be as quick but I feel it's much more fun....I feel more connected to the car.by Alberta Alex - Main Forum
I, along with three other members of our local PCA club tested the 981 S on Saturday. We all came back with essentially the same view. The 981 has upgraded the materials in the interior, it has more room inside, nicer interior hardware, etc. It also handles very well with seamless power delivery. All around, a definite improvement in most things. However, rather than restate the nice things thatby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Sorry, I haven't been around lately. Although I no longer drive a Boxster, I still come back to this page to "visit" with old friends and ask questions. I have a friend who just bought a 997 TT with tip. He loves the paddle shifters of the PDK equipped cars. Is it possible to retrofit a steering wheel with paddle shifters onto a 2007 car? If so, how much work is involved? Could a dealer do it?by Alberta Alex - Main Forum

Like many I lurk but don't post since I left the Boxster world. I jumped with both feet into an '08 997 TT cab. I'm loving the car but I'm still trying to get used to the rear engine and all-wheel drive. It's great not being concerned with the IMS/RMS issues any longer. I'm sure there are issues with the 997.1 Turbos, but nobody on Renntech is aware of any. All the best to all. Alex Eliuk (Edmby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
I agree, but I think what Laz is saying is that a shortened version of the Panamera coupe & cab would be called 929.by Alberta Alex - Main Forum

I bought the car about 10 days ago. I'm now starting to get very excited. Alexby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
With an interesting confluence of circumstances, i.e. time for another car, exchange rate between US and Canadian dollar, being retired, turning 65 this year, I reckoned it was time to shop for a car in the USA. To make a long story short, after 4 months of looking, (Abe are you listening?) I jumped in with both feet and bought a 2008 911 Turbo cab, 6-speed, with 16,000 miles on it. Alberta, you'd better have your winter tires on your turbo. We've still got lots of snow on the ground. BTW, you have lots of friends in Canada. It's just that you haven't met them. Alexby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
No drone, just pure hp/torque/sound gain. I love it. My view is that FVD is a very high quality producer of Porsche parts. Certainly as good or better in quality as OEM parts. Alexby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Because of the size and weight, my guess is that shipping via FedEx will be $200+. I think you'd be better of finding something local. Good luck with the search. Alexby Alberta Alex - Parts for Sale

What I've read is that the new PASM suspension, compared to the non-PASM suspension, is softer in non-PASM mode and stiffer in PASM mode. Perfect for our northern, pot-hole infested roads. I'll probably only use PASM 5% - 10% of the time, but when I want/need it in the twisties, it would be available. The non-PASM suspension, so I've read, is a compromise between the two settings of PASM. I tendby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
As I recall it has about 20K miles on it. I now have the PSE on my car. It's off an '01 S. Where are you located? Shipping could be a killer from Canada. Alexby Alberta Alex - Parts for Sale
I'm considering selling my beloved '01 S and replacing it with a 2009-10 S. I've been watching eBay for 3+ months and have not come across one 987.2 S with PASM. My guess is the cars with PASM are special order cars, ordered by enthusiasts, and they are hanging on to them. The cars ordered by dealerships don't have PASM and trade more frequently. Is there another site to watch for cars with PASMby Alberta Alex - Main Forum
I guess my Econ classes at the U of A all those years ago didn't take into account the effect that all things flow more cheaply to the centre of the universe. BTW, I'm a born and raised Edmontonian. Go Eskies and Oilers!by Alberta Alex - Main Forum
Imperial gallon (4.546 L/gallon) or the US gallon (3.7854 L/gallon). Today I think we are paying about $1.15/L or $4.35/US gallon, and we're the place that has all of the oil that is the feedstock for gasoline.by Alberta Alex - Main Forum
