Slotted Frozen Rotors for 986S Did you see these Grant? $231.50 ea. but like I said, they last a long time.by 986rgt - Main Forum
Frozen Rotors. A Cyo'd rotor that will outlast two sets of non-cryo'd rotors. I went through two sets of front rotors easily, then tried these and they just keep going and going and going. They have easily doubled the lifespan of the stock 986 rotor. They cost a bit more, but like I said, you are effectively getting 2 sets worth of usage out of them. Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Looks like the car got torn in half as it should, but it appears like the gas tank did not survive the impact. What makes it even more depressing was it was a drive event for a charity. RIP Mr. Walkerby 986rgt - Main Forum

Is the plastic cover above the cabin filter in place, as well as the one above the battery? If this cover is not in place, the water will come off the windshield and pour right throughout the cabin filter and come out the hvac vent in the footwell.by 986rgt - Main Forum
They were cloning the tree, not kidding. They wanted to clone the tree to replant and let it grow all over... VIR oak tree cloningby 986rgt - Main Forum
For some reason, I thought the outer race was stationary, not so! But do you think the cavity that the ims is in has any affect on splashing oil back onto the bearing? I guess it takes until about 5pm for my brain to kick in! Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Pedro, Not to be critical, but, in order for this demonstration to mean anything, it should represent more what the actual condition in the motor is. The outer section of the bearing does not rotate, that motion alone is what was keeping the oil away from the bearing. You should secure the outer race and also try to put a divider to keep the oil to the open side of the bearing as in the car. Secby 986rgt - Main Forum
Probably air bagged, if you were in stopped traffic, he may have dropped it to near show level which really tucks the rims up under the wheel arches. If it were driving, then it is the apparent "new" craze of importers called "low offset wheels". All show, no go, one of my buddies friends did this to a really nice looking WRX, it is now a non-functioning rally car!by 986rgt - Main Forum
Leaves are starting to change around here and I found a nice place to stop and take some pics. When I got home I realized I had my camera set to manual mode and all the pics were overexposed, I was bummed. So yesterday, it was just me and my daughter Lily, and I asked her if she wants to go for a ride in daddy's car to which she excitedly responds "Yes!" So, off we went, destined for some backroaby 986rgt - Main Forum
Front fogs really help fill out the area closer to your car and reach out to the sides for more visibility. I can see this helping even in the city to help spot people maybe staring to come off the curb. The rear fog, I only use in HEAVY rain or actual fog to help others from running into the back of me, not needed at any other time. Better get it up on EBAy now while the gettings good! The Gubmint has reportedly stopped Continental from distributing the blue brake fluid in the US stating very old DOT standards for oil colors. Kinda sucks as swapping between Blue and Amber was a nice easy way to tell if you had completely flushed your system. Gotta cjeck and see if I have any in my garage... They look like to me maybe they are a company "extra" maybe for helping to extract the old pads or maybe for something to help spread the pads out? Anyhow, as long as the fit feels right and the pad outline is the same as stock, you should be fine.by 986rgt - Main Forum
Secondary air system malf. Any thoughts on these codes? Aos? Car running normally, no stumbles, no smoke. I suppose I should search the archives, but I know how much the experts here like to feel needed, so experts, help me out! And of course the car only would throw a code when I need to go get emissions done! Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Depends on where it was stored. I personally would do new battery, oil change, fuel filter change, inspect/change serpentine belt, and new tires if they are really as bad as you say. Drain gas tank, and change fuel filter. Would probably be a good idea to flush the brake system too(brake fluid change, easy to do with a buddy). After all that. a good inspection of the car prior to running it. Checby 986rgt - Main Forum
and a dog-box, clutch for first, then go. But alas I don't have the money for one or the upkeep of a racing gearbox. I can see the possitive of the PDK, but I am not a racer, I know Pedro does so it makes sense for him to want PDK. If I had to buy a new car, I would still go for a manual transmission since its becoming more and more rare. Plus, when my kids grow up, and their friends don't knowby 986rgt - Main Forum
going forward on one side of the car, then your installer installed them incorrectly on you rims. They should mount each side with the sipes facing the rear, I would imagine any good installer would know this as the tire is clearly labeled the direction of tire rotation when on the car...by 986rgt - Main Forum
