Just got my package this w/e. Porsche must have read my post where I said I'd be keeping my 987 vs. getting a 981 and tried to convince me otherwise! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
A 981 configured as my 987 goes for $71,450 - $6935 or a 10.7% increase. I'm still keeping my 05! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Mike's comment about the price of his ideal Boxster got me thinking. So I went to the configurator to determine the cost of my car if $ was not an issue. Mine's "only" $87,745 Compared to the $64,515 of my 2005S I've gone up quite a bit, but I added a lot of stuff. It's a good thing I'm still very happy with my current car. Wonder how come they don't make tonneau tops for roadsters anymore? They seemed to have fallen into disfavor with the "death" of the British sports cars. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

most people don't realize how quickly a Boxster can decelerate when it has too! Big SUV's, for whatever reason, tend to be the worst culprits followed by cars with a top speed of 90 mph Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

Not in the summer - you have to pay for parking and you know how cheap people who own expensive cars are!! The "action" moves over to Oak Beach a bit west of Captree, but it's a much smaller lot and fills up at about 8:00 AM- parking is a PITA. If you go watch out for the radar/laser traps along Ocean Pkwy - seems as if there out in greater force this season. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Mazda brought into the US - an RX-2 (I think there was a R100 but not sure if it ever made it to the States). Can't remember why I bought it, perhaps the fact it was different and I bought the hype about it being the future of car engines, or I liked the way the Coupe looked in silver The engine ran so quietly they had a buzzer that went off when you were reaching the max rpm so you wouldn't bby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

You'll have to ask your wife for the correct answer.by Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
I though all Porsches had the ignition key on the left of the steering wheel. But this past w/e I was in a 944 and it was on the right. Anyone know why and if any other models (924 perhaps) break the "rule"? Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

two things to consider: You prepay the VAT tax in the States and its returned to you after the car is shipped back to the States You don't get the Title (proof of ownership) to the car until is registered in the States - don't know if this is applicable to the Euru market Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
about 40 degrees. At near freezing I'd avoid any sharp maneuvers or taking a curve too fast! That's why I put my car away for the winter Hope all is well - we need to get together for a drive. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

Hi Dave, I was there also! IMHO, the car is drop dead gorgeous. The way the rear lights blend into the spoiler looks fantastic. The pictures can't do it justice - needs to be seen. I agree that the shifter is well positioned and the short throws seem crisp - at least with the engine off. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
for a 987S? I seem to remember, but can't find the specs, that the 05 987S had a higher amp requirement. TIA, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
When I had the pleasure of driving my then new Boxster on the Autobahn I was going a "bit" faster and had to move over to let a Porsche Turbo pass me like I was standing still! It was almost as much fun as a DE event - actually it was better. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
expected you to get Duke Blue Congrats! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
or were you concentrating on the car? Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
without enlarging the viewing size (kept it at 4x5) so the picture was very compressed. In this mode the 911 looks awfully similar to a VW Bug Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

If memory serves me Top Gear had a BMW with "hands-free" driving capabilities. It memorized the track and used GPS to navigate. Will the day come when we won't have to drive anymore? Probably , But I kinda like the idea for rush hour traffic. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
