they were awfully close to the finish line - thought they had it given the Camaro was sliding all over the place! Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
But I'm still correct about the engine placement So, KtS how you doing - been a long time since we've seen each other. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

I received a letter from Porsche, telling me of the advantages of trading in my Boxster for a new model. along with a mousepad with a picture of a base Cayman, Boxster, and Carrera . In the product description they've got the Cayman & Boxster as having rear -mounted engines! . I had to read it twice & still couldn't believe they could let an error like that go through - or wait maybe Iby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Hi Cliff, Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm out of town & haven't had the opportunity to check the Board. I was at the 9:30 - at noon I was test driving a Panamera just for kicks! Me, I liked the sound of the GTS Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Went to the Porsche World Roadshow at the Monticello Motorclub yesterday. Wish the weather would have been better - dense fog (visibility < 1/8 mile and a very damp track!). The set up was you got to drive each car for only one lap so your first drive/car was definitely a learning lap - your ability to judge the car's performance was very limited.. All of the cars had the PDK transmission - gby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
a certain college sticker on the car - perhaps in light blue? just kidding! Sorry to hear of your plight. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
The big question is how does Cynthia view the relationship? Regards, Ed BTW, now that the weather is nice we should plan a drive.by Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
to the RX2! Bought into the wankle engine hype and got a Coupe - to say it handled poorly would be an understatement! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
After the longest 4 months of my life I finally took the Boxster out of its winter hibernation! It fired right up & ran like a dream. No flat spots on the tires ( I think I have Guenter's suggestion to put Styrofoam under the tires to thank for that). Took it through some twisties and it handled great - smooth as silk as I increased the revs to the limit. Bottom line - I'm still in love witby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Mike, any update for the 987? I'm looking for a "plug & play" replacement - just drop it in and hook it up! TIA, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
About to take the Boxster out of its first winter hibernation. It's been sleeping for 4 months - the longest 4 months ever! Besides adjusting the tire pressure is there anything else I should do before the first drive, or during it? TIA Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
It's just too much to post pictures of warm weather spots while many of us are suffering through much too much s**n. And there's more of it on the way! I too miss California! Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

won't be able to get the sun on our heads! Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
versus the lack of driving? You lose "x" psi for ever "y" degree of temperature drop - don't remember what x and y are, but I'm sure one of our smarter posters knows! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
nor will any of the rest of us. Happy New Year to you & the family. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum

went over the top if he shows up for the next drive in the FX! Happy New Year to all. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
successful you are in driving your Boxster in 18" of s**w! Even at lower amounts it's not worth the risk of getting hit by a SUV over-driving it's capabilities. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
Wish I had the room for it in my garage, but with the two cars taking up all the room it just won't fit! I started to clear my driveway the old fashioned way - with shovels & brute force. After about a hour of tedious labor and minimal progress a few guys came around and I hired them to complete the job - they worked for about 10" then disappeared, Haven't the foggiest idea why they bailed.by Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
My gut is telling me this is going to be a bad winter - it's the 1st time in 9 years of Boxster ownership that I'm putting the car away for the winter. It's going to be a tough time not driving it! Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
As anyone who knows me, I'm mechanically challenged - simple things for most people are difficult for me Anyway, I got the strips off (yes, they were destroyed) & the cells were completely covered - no need to add distilled water after 5+ years of use. If that isn't maintenance free I don't know what is! Guenter - Thanks for the assist. Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
i tried to get the black strips off & they aren't cooperating - the "plastic" cover keeps flaking off & the black part won't budge. Guess after 5 years of staying put they like it the way they are. If as I suspect I wind up totally destroying the strips I'll cover them with electrical tape - sound good to you? Thanks for your assistance. Regards, Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
I'll be darned if I can see any removable caps for filling! I picked my car up in Germany, so I'm guessing I got a "real" Moll & it looks maintenance free to me -am I missing something??? Edby Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Main Forum
