Yes, it is spring -- finally. I am driving the Boxster more. I even sometimes put the roof down -- gasp. I am finding that I have an intermittent fault with the parking brake sensor. I frequently have to engage and disengage the brake several times to get the light to appear on the dash and to allow the roof to function. I searched the archives at the old PPBB. Found Trygve's seemingly exceby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I don't know. I was just getting concerned because I was getting stuck while entering or leaving the car. I know I am old, but Sheesh.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
It is a real pain to raise the seat. Hardly a big deal, but it was the first time I ever got stuck trying to get in and out of my car. My wife is selling - that the tire shop guys did it. Obviously fixed now.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I know I have not been around much. Life, the universe and all.... Anyway, I went to take out the car today and I couldn't fit. I couldn't get in the first try and once in, my head hit the roof. Hmmm, I am the only one who ever drives the car.... Hmmm, did I just get WAY out of shape? I am pretty sure I couldn't get taller... I check the seat adjustment, and the seat is elevated ALL the wby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Stamford to Hull, MA and back... I did the same trip a few weeks back. The car has been neglected lately, but I am happy to have it back out.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

All of those things stirke me as relatively easily fixable. The coolant tank in particular is a known failure point. Why are we talking about a replacement engine? Nothing on that list suggests an imminent failure. The simple stuff should be fixed. Then if you - someday - maybe 10 years from now - have a failure make a value judgment then. I suspect that options will be different year to yeby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
In particular a Porsche? Or anything remotely new? I think that his problems are not going to be solved by a car. Perhaps he needs to review his own insecurities....?by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

Thanks for the board and for saving some "family space" Thanks for taking my call too. And thanks to the other board deputies who keep the place what it is.... Sometimes we forget it is work to keep up this place and folks have actual lives too.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
But thanks all for the input.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
the banjo bolt which attaches the main oil line to the rocker arm assembly on the Healey. If the bolt fails, the rocker asembly follows and ... I am more than a little apprehensive about using it. Certainly the caliper bolt is a potentially life or death bolt. But I am not sure it is as delicate an installation. I suspect if this bolt is a little off center, the banjo might not seal correctlby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
anyone use them on a delicate/essential bolt? Is it really an "as good as new" fix? If this bolt fails, kiss the motor goodbye. The part, however, is REALLY expensive to replace - if it even can be done.....by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
The engine work on my Healey is back under way. The pistons are in, the oil pump is now on its way from unobtainium (or is it unobtainia?) With any luck the engine will be complete by March. Front end is done. Rear end is restored - needs to be installed. Body is still at media blasters. Hopefully will be in paint by Easter. Things are moving again....by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
It was a faceplate gasket. A nuisance to fix, but not the same a a head gasket. Still pretty expensive.... Thanks for the supportby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I could conceivably do the work myself. It is just that it will take a long time.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
The LS is not compatible. I thought of that.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Car worth $2500 - maybe. Replacement engine $1800 Parts to replace head gasket < $100. But labor is obscene. For me it would be 25-30hrs. The shop would prob take 2 full days at least. When done, the engine is still a 150K mile engine. Opinions??by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
But I must have expanded her horizons with the Healey.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Somebody starts talking about cars and their favorites and such. My seven year old son announces that he wants a Viper. OK not a surprise, thank you lightning Mcqueen. Then my nine year old daughter says she wants a "real car" a a 1949 Buick Roadmaster Fastback. She's 9. How does she even know what that is? It is not a car that I know anything about really and certainly not on my wishlist.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
In general I have nothing but good things to say. The dealer is VERY expensive - by any standard. But Diane is terrific.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
