Before I bought another DME, I would try to further isolate both the harness and the DME. Boxsterra clearly knows the proper test procedures. Given enough time and know how, they will certainly work. I am a little more plebeian... I would remove your DME and insert it in a near identical car. If possible put the known good unit in your car. Either test requires a friend, but the test wouldby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

I bet the price of the destination charges is the reason for the cost increase. But I also bet that at that money they are still losing -- this is an engineering exercise like the veyron.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Quotemikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC I like my news and my opinions exposed to critics. Because maybe they are right and only by reading/listening to their arguments or viewpoints will mine be enlightened. Mike - this is now my facebook status. You may consider it a +1. you need to take that piece and analyze with other observed facts. Basically, it can point you in the right direction. Frequently, there are 3 or four common things which can cause a particular code. If I check the code, MANY times I can find a simple fix which cost 0 to check out. For instance, if you leave the gas cap open, even a little you will get a code. I forget the number, but if I gby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

The broken bracket is on the driver's side of the axle housing. It sheared in the middle of the bracket.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
On my camaro ....The steel mount attaching the panhard bar to the rear axle bought the farm. This is a stamped steel mounting bracket. Soo... Do I need to replace the whole axle housing? Do you think I can weld (or get welded actually) a new bracket to the akle shaft? This is a "where do I start to look" question. Frankly I am a little stunned - I have NEVER heard of a bracket like that jusby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

had the car out much of this week. Found it difficult to drive safely because all the snow piles on every corner and dive were so high I can't see traffic. scooch, crawl, stretch --- I was almost tempted to get out to see - then jump back in real quick to get into traffic.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
under the frame or the main portion of the suspension and..... or -- I don't really recommend this ... put a nut on halfway and hit with a hammer. Perhaps put a block of wood on top. In either case, it depends upon how much of an emergency it is. I would rent one of the press tools seen in picture. They are basically free at Autozone.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

I am always astonished that the same folks in my life ALWAYS have repeated major repairs on their car. By the same token. Most folks in my life have decent success. And a few never seem to have a problem. I seem to fall between the last two groups. My cars have not been bulletproof by any measure, but they are generally trouble free. I have a theory that those who take care of their cars geby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I find those who talk about buying a new car to save money on repairs really funny. You get a new car and your payments are at least $500. per month (probably more) That's $6000 per year. You can do a whole lot of repairs for that kind of money. Even if the engine blows up, if'n you get 2 years out of the new one- you are still ahead of the game. I totally get the "piece of mind" argument, bby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

I, too, have a motive bleeder. I did however modify the procedure a bit. It saves cleanup at the expense of a second pump pressurization. 1) remove screen from brake master cylinder 2) w/ turkey baster remove as much fluid as possible from the reservoir 3) fill reservoir almost to the brim with new fluid - alternate colors blue vs. gold 4) attach motive - pressure to 18lbs. 5) bleed rearby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
