Should I replace the tire-pressure monitors while the is rubber off, or will they last a couple more years? Dealer says they run like $130 ea., plus it is wise to get the $30 (ea) stems incase they break off from the monitors. Had no idea. Thought that you could replace a battery and be good to go. That's like adding 30% to the cost of each tire. I love the system, but man, may have to let tby db997S - Main Forum
Hopefully, never. Also, more various "rays" to be constently exposed. Imagine sitting in a two-hour traffic jam with all those waves continually surrounding you from hundreds and hundreds of those devices? Not unrealistic here in DC. Was stuck in one a couple weeks ago. Two hours of stop and go traffic. Brake lights as far as you could see in front, and headlights as far back as you could sby db997S - Main Forum
It had no engine, but LA Port Authorities found it being shipped to the Netherlands. This was in an Oct. 28 LA Times article. Stolen Porsche found after 23 yearsby db997S - Main Forum
Not sure which model this will be going in, but according to a Time blog, Porsche will be installing steering columns that rise up to, um, get out of the way of drivers' guts. Maybe this will just be in the SUVs and sedans. Super-sized driver aidsby db997S - Main Forum

Sorry, can't post since it's a subscription on-line site. I have no affiliation with any of these items, but they are supposedly like Dyno testing to regsiter horsepower, speed, braking and other items. Thought some on the board maybe interested. Won't be disappointed if this gets deleted. Dynolicious ($13) for the i-Phone Bosch Light 'Em Up Dyno ($5, but has adversting) for the i-Phine Thereby db997S - Main Forum
It's still sad to see, but in the very first sentence of an article for Porsche expecting record sales next year on the revamped 911 and Boxster, the company is called the maker of the Cayenne sport-utility vehicle. BusinessWeek Article on Porsche Record Salesby db997S - Main Forum
No, but if you join the local PCA group, from time to time, they have a lift for charity event where local shops allow members to use their lifts on a Saturday for a donation that goes to charity. Think there were two this year. The calendar for next year has not been set. For membership: Potomac Founders Region Membershipby db997S - Main Forum
Thankfully, the 2009 has the glove box for roadtrips, but I do like that stash scene as the dorky Richard asks Nick if he has an oil leak, as Nick is under the front end of his Targa.by db997S - Main Forum

Took a roadtrip down to Beaufort, SC, to meet up with some old college friends we've known for almost 30 years. They chose Beaufort, which is where the Big Chill was filmed back in 1982. In the beginning of the movie, at the funeral, Nick drives up in his mid- to late-70s Targa and parks at an angle at the church, which is actually not in Beaufort. My wife and I found it (thanks Internet) and snaby db997S - Main Forum
Don't like the rear wing going over the tail lights. The trunk lid slope reminds me of the rear of a Chrysler Crossfire. The side intakes are too much, but wondering if it's due to function over form to provide greater airflow for the rumored turbo charged four banger that's on the way. Oh, well, so much for evolution over revolution, or what ever the Porsche saying is regarding their design sby db997S - Main Forum
I’ve posted before about negative responses in the less than two years I’ve owned my 997 S Cab. Usually, it’s people speeding up and honking at me while I try to change lanes. In 11 years of Boxster ownership, the only negative thing to happen was a drunk on St. Patty’s day tossing a cup of water at my car as I drove past. All else, was extremely positive. The latest incident, my wiby db997S - Main Forum

Went on a roadtrip this weekend and the car sat out side for two days of pretty constant rain. The car was dry inside, but when the rain finely broke, I dropped the top with the windows down. But shortly there after, raised them. The inside of the driver's side was wet. So much so, it left water spots after it dried. Not sure if this should be a concern, but I'm thinking there's alot of stuffby db997S - Main Forum

He was on Conan the other week. He's training for a stunt in China where he'll fly through a "cave", really, a hole in a mountain that's a couple hundred feet long. Problem is, that once he commits to it, he has a 1/4 of a mile were he can't "land" due to the terrain.by db997S - Main Forum
Seen several reports that the 991 will be around until the year 2025. So, does that mean that the 981 will have the same life cycle? The reports have the following rollout for the numerous 991 varients: early 2012 for the Cab; December 2012 for the C4 and C4S; Turbo (520 hp) in 2013; later in in 2013 will be the GT3 and then the Targa (no more sliding roof, once again it will be removable); anby db997S - Main Forum
