The guy is just trying a motor cross turn, plant the foot or lower control arm and pivot , great way to early apex. I bet the owner of that car doesn't want that car back.by Alcantera - Main Forum
loved road Atlanta ,that turn up under the bridge has to be one of the all time scary turns, it looks like nothing but daylight .We found it triggers that mechanism in the brain that says " I cannot see where I'm going or whats ahead so I had better lift. Corner two at mosport is very much the same. Maybe the boxsters smoke when nervousby Alcantera - Main Forum
It sounds to me that you are going into to low of a gear and probably overreving the motor. Your should be exiting the corner at 4000 which is where the torque is ,at 6000 your almost on the rev limiter. If you are overeving you will get blue smoke coming out of the car. downshifting into to low a gear puts tremendous stress on the motor. Drive the track like you would drive on the highway, graduby Alcantera - Main Forum
Recycled milk containers, so funny! I have my old one on my shelve and that's exactly what it looks likeby Alcantera - Main Forum
I wish I had known you were heading this way we could of recommended some roads and places to stay. I know of a few porsche garages in Quebec if you need any help PM.by Alcantera - Main Forum
Jules please don't take this personally but the guys on this board are so tired of this subject. You can find a ton of info all over the net and in the archives. We love these cars or we would not be here . So post a picture, tell a story, show us a hack or ask how to fix something and we are receptive .by Alcantera - Main Forum
I think a five year old car would not be harmed by having a coolant flush as part of preventative maintenance program. Most of us have replaced our coolant after a few years ,because the coolant tank has gone . I have put two in my car so far its a 2002 maybe just order a tank and do a flush and tank replacement s a preventative move. Most tanks split while your driving and you lose the coolantby Alcantera - Main Forum
"Daddy is that a Porsche BOXER" or "Honey pull over the kids are banging on the box again , they need to pee.! " How about "Guenter could hardly wait to tell the guys how he got both sets of clubs and Michelle in the boxster!by Alcantera - Main Forum
I wonder if it runs on gasoline, maybe its some form of bluetek diesel. It seems that most of Europe runs diesel now. That would supply the torque for sure and with the rules regarding noise being so strict in Europe exhaust note will be inaudible.by Alcantera - Main Forum
Goodbye symphony in flat six, Hello 4 part harmony???............Nahby Alcantera - Main Forum
I recently had a wiring problem with an older 911. The first place I looked was at the diagrams in the back of my Haynes manual, for some guidance . I think 10 minutes of that would drive anyone crazy. My next stop was the Internet, and low and behold Pelican parts has most of the diagrams (in colour). I printed one out on a 8" by 11'' paper. This was better, but still hard to follow. I took myby Alcantera - Main Forum
I looked on the pet program and I dont see green and yellow as a spring for a 1999 boxster Are you looking at the front or rears. I assembled a set for a 993 last week and they were yellow /green springs.by Alcantera - Main Forum
Your headlights should sell fast,we get calls for them weekly. you should be able to find some lights with burns or broken adjusters to take the lenses off. put your inflate a spare and jack and tool kit on ebay, guys that live in remote areas will pay for them if they don't have a spare. We sold a set last week to a guy who lives in northern Alberta.by Alcantera - Main Forum

Hi All, Here is another project that I have been working on. I noticed that my Playbook was the size of two din boxes. I removed my storage box and my cup holders???? and placed them gently into the trash can. This freed up two slots; the stereo and air controls were then moved to the upper spaces. This is easy to do as the wiring harness is sufficiently long enough; it just takes a few minuteby Alcantera - Main Forum
but the guy on ebay said they were collectors itemsby Alcantera - Main Forum
I thought you guys would like a peek at our next project. I posted awhile back about Bobby a seventy five year old fellow that does some of our body work. I told everyone how impressed I was with his work . Bobbies Ferrari is painted and almost complete and we received the 356 that he had rebuilt back from the paint shop. The painter commented "this is by far the nicest restore I have ever paintby Alcantera - Main Forum
Time to put Boxster bits on ebay, you should be able to recoup some of your expenses. We have a customer who we call boxsterdoxster that has done the same conversion. Having been around Porsche's a lot lately I think a 944 may be a better choice but The value of these boxsters makes them great candidates for spec racers. We look forward to your postsby Alcantera - Main Forum
Imho one of your headlight Assembly's is not pushed in and making contact with the plug. I suggest you remove the light and lubricate the rubber plugs with a little dialectic grease. These plugs dry out with age and become had to push together.by Alcantera - Main Forum
We may see you Sunday G ,We are heading for Lake Simcoe Friday . I may run down to Mosport Sunday, see you in corner two.by Alcantera - Main Forum
I took apart a core motor today from a 1972 e Porsche. I removed the engine shroud and fan and low and behold Mr mouse had built a small mouse condo unit inside. The little guy had made sure that the cool air would never make it past the engine fins. I began to wonder if mickey mouse had caused this motor to overheat and seize. Since becoming Dave the Porsche junk yard dog I'm amazed at the numbeby Alcantera - Main Forum
With the the number of boxsters being gutted and made into track cars you should be able to to find a nice interior complete for $1500. We purchased a complete carrera from a shop that was building a race car. I would call around to some of the speed shops building boxsters. Have alook on the spec class site and post an AD for.a interiorby Alcantera - Main Forum
I am also a fan of the 993 the car has the great engine block, enough of the new car creature comforts of the new cars and a timeless shape. The only problems I see is used parts are getting hard to come by. We delivered a rebuilt motor on Friday , IT took us almost a month to find an engine block to replace the damaged block from the original motor. We looked at the Hershey swap meet for 993 parby Alcantera - Main Forum
I had a similar problem 1128/1130 code which is the computer maxing out trying to over come a lean condition at idle. I had this code for a while, it turned out to be a piece missing in my air box which allowed extra air to enter the motor. The computer responded by adding fuel and turning on 1128/1130 code light. Your problem may be the opposite you may have an air restriction which will cause yoby Alcantera - Main Forum
try cleaning the contacts first, you can buy a key set for 4 dollars on ebay. I took mine to a auto radio store and they pulled the radio out for free. MAke sure you know the code before you disconnect the radio as you will not be able to play the radio until you enter the code. I rarely play the radio I find symphony in flat six much more enjoyable than Lady ga ga bby Alcantera - Main Forum
With an AMG car your tires will wear out in two years regardless of brand, I would suspect those tires have done a lot of curing sitting in a warehouse at 45c . I guess you have to deside if you want to walk home in that heat if you pop a tire. The kuhmos seem to be well liked by the guys on the board who live in the southern states, I tried them here (Canada ) and found they flat spot really badby Alcantera - Main Forum
It only takes a few more minutes to remove the pan while you have the car up on the hoist, its adds a little more security as you will get an early indicator of any future problems. ie slipper wear, breaking chains. I would also cut open the oil filter and check it. I don't think you would find anything to worry about with a 2007 . We are getting calls for replacement motors in cars that young.by Alcantera - Main Forum
How was the clutch working before the motor died. We saw a 3.2 recently that had the crank thrust bearing in the pan. The flywheel would move every time the guy would depress the clutch I wouldld guess the Ims bearing let go on your car and the chain or sprocket shaved the engine case. I am starting to see a few motor builders who are rebuilding M96 motors. Are you planning on rebuilding this mby Alcantera - Main Forum
