I have a friend who lives in Cary. I checked in on her and her family when I heard about the storms. She described similar weather conditions as you. She was downtown a few hours at a local canine walk before the tornado hit. She came back later and saw that large oak trees had been uprooted and many of setups (tents, booths) were thrown blocks away. Fortunately, the event was over and no one frby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
It was running in the World Challenge race at the Long Beach Grand Prix. It was the first Cayman I have seen in a high profile sanctioned race. I attended Friday's event. Our local PCA had an ALMS Grand Prix party on Thursday. Until I learned that the $70 rebate program from the mfr. (Bridgestone) expired on 3/19 and that there is a 4 to 5 week back log on Michelin PS-2s. Plus, that mfr. rebate expires on 4/1 (Even if ordered now). Without the rebate, Tire Rack's prices are very close to local tire shops. Why wait for T.R. delivery and then have to bring the tires in (or delivered at the shop) for installation? Iby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I do spirited mountain driving and on-ramp/off-ramp curve carving. No autocross or track use with this car. I have an '88 Carrera for that. It can better handle the abuse. I tried the Boxster at autocross and driver training track events in the first few years of ownership. It was exceptional, but I cannot afford to push it off a cliff now (As one PPBB member & friend once advised me conceby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Either N-spec. or non-spec. I may give these a try. I have been using Bridgestone SO-2s for many years. Are they worth the ~$200 premium on a set of 4? The load ratings for the SO-2s and PS-2 are the same for their current N-spec. Greater load ratings for the non-rated, which indicates stiffer sidewalls. Thanks.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
A resonable drive from there to Carmel, Monterey and Pacific Grove. Close to sand dunes, otter watching, Point Lobos, beach walks, the famous 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach, Monterey Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. A very peaceful and special place.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
The RVs and slow cars would not use the turnouts. I had an F430 behind me and I could tell he was more impatient that I. I could not make a safe pass (All solid yellow lines), so I stayed in the cattle congo line. Low and behold, he passes me and 3 other cars on a blind outside curve. Like the quote above, what a maniac. He could have taken out many lives if a car had been around the bend. Iby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I follow Porsche's recommendation on N ratings for tires. I can't remember if N ratings can be mixed on different axles. For example, I am looking at Michelin PS-2 (Pilot Sports). The supplier tells me that he can get the fronts as N1 and the rear as N-3. Is that a problem? I tried to access the archives at PPBB, but was unsuccessful. Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I posted some pics on what I found. There are 9 pieces of noticeable size in the pics. There were a few other very small metal particles (<1mm) in the rest of the filter membrane. The largest of 3 bits is between ~2mm and 3mm in diameter (The 1st piece from the left). All but the 2nd, 5th and 6th pieces are amber color. The 2nd and 5th pieces are black colored (Each ~1mm to 2mm). The 6th isby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I replaced my brake pads yesterday. On my last pad & rotor replacement, I re-used (re-glued) the old generation vibration dampener. So, this time I could not get the pads separated from the backing plate. Instead, it was easier to remove the calipers and remove the pads. I did not put them the dampeners back this time. The new pads have weights that act as dampeners. As I am removing one ofby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
My brake sensor light went on the other day. I checked my shop manual (Which may be for non-S model) and the maximum pad dimension is 11mm with a minimum of 2mm. Is that accurate for an S? I assume that the wear sensor goes on before it reaches the minimum. I removed one wheel and the right front is pad at 4 to 5 mm. I cannot see if the sensor has been touched on this rotor. With CA budget cuts, I see no good long term prognosis. Did your girlfriend go to Whittier College? It's a funny thing. I didn't know about GMR & GRR until about 10 years ago. expensive to repair. It is much cheaper to get a new TV than repair the old one. IMHO the Sony 3D is much better than the others that I have seen. It is not based on all the trickery. Instead it adds depth to the show. It felt very comfortable for the extended time that I watched. My current TV is HD and I have a good sound set up already. There are two 3D bundles available. One includes a 3D Blue Ray player (without considerable memory). Another instead has a 3D Playstation 3 with 160Gb memory. Similar pricing for either choice. Both are WiFi ready and have enabled internet connectivity. Is the player in the PS3 comparable in quality to the BR? Would it have similar control features (Pause, Slow motion, etc.)? There were 2 Porsche North American debuts. The Cayman R and the 911 Speedster. The base price on the Speedster was upwards of $200K! Any thoughts on the displayed color scheme on the R?
