Thanks G and Renee for hosting another fine TSBL gathering. It was terrific seeing old friends again, and the food was awesome. Where else can you get a free oil change and a great meal at the same time?! Lol. Here's a pic, but I'm sure there will be others posted... Maurice and Gundo, thanks again for helping me basically do my oil change for me. Jaay, is also officially the quickest mechanicby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I used to think these were annoying, but a few months ago, I noticed on my daily commuter Infiniti FX35, one tire was slowly losing pressure over a few days. That prompted me to take it to a tire shop, and they ended up finding a small nail in the tire. I'm convinced that if I didn't have the TPMS, I might've been caught on the side of the highway one evening after work changing a flat. Now, I wiby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Just put baby powder on the stain and leave it there for a day or so. It will absorb the oil into the powder. Then, just rinse off and you're done. Not sure if it'll work on WD40, but works charms whenever I get oil from my food on my clothes or on the couch. Lol.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Dismantlers sell the whole unit on Ebay. Type in "Porsche Boxster Glove Box" in the search, and you'll see some in the $300 range. Not cheap, but an option if you can't rig up a workable DIY fix.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Agreed. That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy having one of the newer models...I would. Just that I'm still pretty happy with my old car as it still gives me grins.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thanks Guenter. You are absolutely right....it is a real pleasure to finally drive her in nice weather. With the winter wheels/tire set I had on, I did use it to drive to work a few times during the winter, but it just wasn't as fun as warm weather driving. The car was meant to have its top down. Glad to see you are also enjoying the permagrin.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Haha. Well, congrats to you! Sounds like an awesome new fancy Pcar you'll be having soon! Hope you enjoy it to the fullest! When is she arriving?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I love how simple the car is. There's nothing in the car to take your focus away from just driving it and enjoying the ride. Your 912 must be similarly fun to just throw around.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
....no Active Camber, no PSM, no fancy Agaveolet Grey exotic colors or even a gun holder or IMS retrofit! Just a simple 11-year old, 5-speed manual plain silver colored Boxster..., and it was still darn fun! . Who says you gotta spend a lot of money on one of em fancy new models to have a ball? Parked to grab some pizza, and still had someone come up to me to tell me that I had a cool car. IMO,by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Sweet seats Steve! Paint those rings before you throw them in the car too! I think it'll look awesome.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thx G. I think I'll def have them thrown on before your TSBL day! You got those beautiful Fikses back on the 997?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
For a 2001 (I have one too), you can either: 1) place a trickle charger in the cigarette lighter socket to charge the battery enough to operate the electric trunk switch or 2) get a power lead to a location in the fuse box in the driver's footwell (the location is marked), make sure put a ground to the doorjam or something. It will automatically electrically pop the trunk lid. I would first tryby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Well, as an update, I finally found time to get my new Sumitomo HRTZ IIIs mounted to my summer 18" 3 piece wheels. Took em to a local Firestone located next to a Chevy dealership (figured they would have experience mounting low profile tires on them Vettes. Lol) After talking to the manager, he assured me he had a guy there who was great with low profile tires, and he called him over to look atby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Tinypic does delete your photo after a while, so if you want it to stay on the board, you will need to upload your picture on another hosting site.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
It is ridiculous, but no more so than a Porsche Pepper Turbo, BMW X5/X6 M, Range Rover Sport Supercharged, etc. Why shouldn't Bentley profit from the trend too? It will sell, so they make what will sell. It's got 600hp, so it will have a little sport, and it is a SUV (tall station wagon), so I'm sure owners can fit some of the groceries or shopping bags in the back (there's your utility). Lol.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I can't bring the tires to a Porsche dealer to get them mounted because I'm not going to be putting on N-rated tires (something my dealer told me were the only tires they would mount). For my snow tires/wheels, I just bought the tires separately and then brought the tires and wheels to a Goodyear place to have them mounted, and they did an ok job. Just that I don't really care about my winter whby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thanks Laz. Wondering if these places carry Hunter balance machines.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Hi all. Getting ready for Spring and will get a new set of tires for my summer wheels. They are off the car right now, so I am going to just bring the wheels and the new tires to a shop to have the tires mounted. Thing is, I have what I think are pretty mint multipiece wheels (shown in pic below), and don't want a shop guy to scratch them to smithereens when mounting the tires. Can I trust a locby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Try infinitipartsusa.com. I've ordered from them several times before and am pleased. No affiliation.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I've driven with Tango several times before at TSBL events, and I can tell you he's a pretty tame driver, unlike some other TSBLers I know. By looking at the video, it didn't look like they were really pushing it either. If you want to see irresponsible driving, just get in a NYC taxi for 10 minutes. Lolby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
They do...it's called the Boxster.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Maybe they'll be able to make a new soft top for the Boxster that gives it the same side view profile of a Cayman.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
They have a higher tolerance for getting ripped off. Lolby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I take my Infiniti FX35 to the dealer for oil changes because they only charge $39 for it. At that price, no need to even think of taking it to an Indy or jiffy lube. They don't overcharge me for service and like my Porsche dealer and Audi dealer (for my wife's car), they always offer me a loaner if I ask for one. They never, however, ask me to refill the gas on the loaner back to where it was whby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
You're the expert Pedro, so I defer to you. I coulda sworn tho that I read before that they got extra power from using the newer airbox design with the cylindrical filter (not just the filter itself), as well as reprogramming and freer flowing exhaust system. Also, curious- why would they switch to the cylindrical filter from the flat panel one if it didn't offer any benefit?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I think I read that it came from using the cone/cylindrical air filter/intake system that was used in the 987 model.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
