Not sure about the kids in your area, but around where I grew up, soaping windows, egging houses and cars, and toilet papering trees, etc. was all part of the Halloween tradion. I try and lock up my vehicles on Oct. 30 and 31. These days, kids think it's funny to use spray paint on cars. --dbby db997S - Main Forum
You might want to suggest that your friend try an organic mold remover. I haven't used it on car surfaces, but she can try it in a small area of the seat where discoloration won't be as noticable. She can either go to an organic grocery store or search on line for organic mold remover or organic mold killer. Most mold killers are bleached based, but the organic ones should not be. It's also good for a student to see the instructor make an error like that one. Makes him more aware that if an experienced person can spin a car due to cold tires, can't take anything for granted. Glad it was a spin and not a crash.by db997S - Main Forum

Interesting that you can no longer see the engine in the 911. No all progress is good, I guess.by db997S - Main Forum
Over the past several years, Porsche has done well in JD Powers Reliability surveys. Imagine visiting a dedicated board for some of the other less reliable brands on the survey and hear what they have to say about their issues. Cars these days have tones of technology, motors, circuits, lighter components for fuel saving, etc. So, go have at another make, chances are, your luck won't be much dby db997S - Main Forum

My 2002 S was a leather steering wheel in the standard, partial package. Rule of thumb, if you touch it on a regular basis, it's leather. --dbby db997S - Main Forum
Basically, what touches the body is leather, the rest is fake. The steering wheel and brake handle should also be real leather. One way to tell is to put a drop of water on the surface. If it stays a bead, then it's fake, if it seeps into the surface it's real. There was a pricey all leather option, which replaced any of the fake with the real deal, including doors and dash.by db997S - Main Forum
Like that top edge along the back end, but all that writing has got to go. I've never been a fan of debadging, but in this car, that's one of the first things I'd do with it. This has to be one of the nicer rear ends Porsche has given a 911.by db997S - Main Forum
Not just the red cover, but the rear trunk lid looks very odd. Almost like the BMW 6 Series where the lid was an after thought and desgined by a different group. The 981 in the Pix seems like the lid is raised about an inch or two. The interior shot, those air vents are hideous. I was never much of a fan of the round ones, but yikes, they should be ashamed of these things.by db997S - Main Forum

Congrats. The power of the Internet. Boxster supplies are dwindling. I went to my dealer to have my HPFP replaced under a recall and man, was the dealer's lot was pretty void of Boxsters and just about everything else besides plenty of Panameras, which I find odd since those and the Pepper are leading the Porsche sales charge. The 911 also has helped recently. Maybe discounts to clean them oby db997S - Main Forum

According to a report in today's New Zealand Herald, the new series will be an endurance racing world championship. No specifics on types of cars, but some speculation is that it might be heavy on hybrids, which Porsche will soon have two models. Final word from FIA won't be until their December meetings. Expect races in Europe, US and Asia, all stong Porsche markets. Regarding F1, Porsche'sby db997S - Main Forum

at least my 2009 997S with DFI has a recall on the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP). While mine isn't acting up, one of the signs is not turning over right away. Do you notice any loss in power/hesitation? That's another sign. I brought my car in for something else and the service tech told me about the recall. I believe they call them a silent recall. A normal recall has a notice mailed to oby db997S - Main Forum

I guess just because you have a baby doesn't mean you can't have a porsche. This little stroller will set you back 1,200 Pounds, though. If you prefer, Ferrari, Audi or a Jeep, they make high-end strollers, too. Here's a Pix of the real Baby Porsche: Porsche Strollerby db997S - Main Forum
Porsche is looking at a 959-like car to compete directly with Ferrari. No other details except that Porsche wants to keep the 911 line maxed out at the $350k level. The 918 hovers closer to the seven-figure mark. So, the new model will compete directly with the F-car, which doesn't have much comp. Ferrari Beaterby db997S - Main Forum
