... really wear fast and can make a lot of sound. Leave the swaybar in place and leave the suspension loaded. You need to install the droplinks so that there is zero load on the sawybars. ... a PST II or a PIWIS tothe car you can test the gauge by simulating different fuel levels. But the gauge seems to be working so I would check the sender. Sometimes it ca get tangled up in the lines and isn't free to move. Before you get into the gas tank first order a new rubber gasket. The all tend to swell up with time and will not fit back in. ... I run 29/40 cold. I also have 225s (instead of the OEM 205s) up front because I hate understeer. The lower pressure up front will make the tires grab better reducing understeer. The higher pressure on the rears dials in some oversteer allowing me to better rotate the car. It may or may not work for everyone. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... that displays the silhouette of an engine and the text: FAILURE INDICATOR in the On Board Computer's display. What it means is that the coolant temperature gauge, tachometer or cruise control, etc., could be faulty. That message has to be read and reset by a PIWIS computer. It's probably an electrical issue if that wasd the warning you got. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... take your time and go step-by step. You don't have to disassemble the inner joint. You can clean it like the outer one, but to me it's just easier to take it apart to clean it. Once you learn how to reassemble it, it's a cinch. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

... gloves and a couple of rolls of paper towels. It's a dirty and smelly job! Generally on the 6-speed tranny cars the boots tend to last about 35,000 miles, maybe a bit less. So if you do it around that mileage as a preventive measure your CVJs will last a long time. One trick I use for the 6-speed cars is to extend the boot just beyond the axle's dimpled mark. Later the 2 Bobs couldn't stay on as permanent planers and became planers emeritus. At that time Ron took over helping Karl and the rest is history. ... it was your old cap that allowed air into the system which eventually was what cracked the reservoir. I have always believed that whenever there's air in the system eventually the reservoir will crack. Always make sure whenever the system is compromised that you bleed out all the air. Thanks for clarfying Kiki. You souldn't be able to see any oil whatsoever at the oil fill tube (under the yellow cap) Your car only has an electronic gauge to measure oil quantity, but it does monitor oil pressure. If there weren't any oil in the engine when you picked it up, you would have seen a red warning light on the dash. Also an engine with no oil eould not have driven that far, so I don'tby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
...on the early 996s and 986s are the same part number and all need to be replaced if you still have the original cap. They tend to lose their pressue-holding capacity and will leak water vapor. All of them came with xxx.00 caps and Porsche had to modify them 3 more times. The latest version, as you note, ends in xxx.04 and that version seems to work very well. ... I'm sorry to hear about your car troubles. I'm not sure what you Aussies call the "balance shaft" in a Boxster engine. The M96 engines have 5 shafts: • Crankshaft (which drives all 6 pistons in and out) • Left Bank Intake Camshaft (which drives the intake valves on the left) • Right Bank Intake Camshaft (which drives the intake valves on the right) • Left Bank Exhaust Camshaft (whichby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

But, it's something that your tech can check by checking to see if there's any movement of the wheel when the suspension is unloaded. He can also disconnect the control arm from the wheel hub and check for wear. Also, if you lift the Boxster facing the other way (nose facing out) you can get a few more inches as well..
