Every 90,000 miles. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Hard areas on leather seats usually happen when the leather gets wet and then dries quickly. The best way to hydrate it is to apply steam to the area, slowly until it gets soft, then cover the area with a damp terrycloth and allow it to dry very slowly (2-3 days) away from direct sunlight or other source of heat. Depending on the severity, this procedure may have to be repeated several times. Wheby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

The reason I say the math works is for existing ICE cars that want to keep using their vehicles with extremely low carbon footprints. It isn't implied that eFuel will compete with electric or hydrogen powered cars. It's a stop-gap. when netted out, eFuel is actually a very good alternative. Not only do the emissions drop dramatically, but also in its production CO2 is scrubbed from the atmospheby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

The math certainly works, because it's been proven since the 40s. Germany fueled all of its armament during WWII with synthetic fuel made from Coal (which they had plenty of). Porsche's eFuel technology came from that refined process of coal-to-gasoline that was used by South Africa since the war. The eFuel is real, and it works. What doesn't work is the infrastructure (power grid) that the worldby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
As I expressed above, changing from a Tip to a Manual transmission is not an easy job! There are a lot of parts that need replacement including, but not limited to shifter, cables, wiring harnesses, Transmission control unit, heat exchanger, adding center radiator, etc., etc. It's not worth it. Options in the sense that you pick the one you want, but all of the options are programmed in already. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
There are 4 preprogrammed protocols for door locking, where you pick one. These are not user accessible, because you need a PST-II unit to change them. If I remember correctly: 1.- Doos and trunk are unlocked unless manually locked using remote or interior switch. 2.- Doors and trunks are automatically locked once the car reaches 3 mph and repair locked until 3.- Doors and locks automatically loby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Not really. The car's ECU and other modules and the wiring harnesses are for a Tiptronic vehicle. Replacing that is not cheap and would require a lot of labor. The 5-peed manuals are very costly because every Spec Boxster Racecar owner has one or two for spares. They are very hard to find. Tiptronics are a dime a dozen so they are affordable.Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
There's no practical and affordable way to repair one of those Tiptronics. You can find a used Tip for $3,000 if you search with patience. Labor to replace a Tiptronic should be less than $1,000. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

I have always been all-in when it comes to hydrogen for transportation, but it has limitations just like most other forms of "fuel" whether liquid, gas or electric. Right now, there are roughly 50 hydrogen dispensing "gas" stations in Southern CA which are self contained. A 40' container is placed at a standard gas station and it contains the on-site hydrogen extraction and dispensing equipment nby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... a we are looking at the demise of the automobile industry as we've known it. The car now becomes a piece of hardware with no soul and offering no enjoyment. Kids nowadays don't even look forward to getting their license. No more posters of Turbos or Lamborghinis in bedrooms so you could dream about them. I'm glad to be on the way out, because I really don't like my outlook of the future. Eby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Depending on the safety protocol the car is programmed with it will lock itself after a set number of minutes. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
I prefer the negative disconnect on the battery for extended periods of time and using a smart battery tender if possible. The $8 switch is easy to use but it actually limits the current flow from the battery vs connected directly. When doing this, I would also open the frunk and close the latch with a screw driver (trunk light goes off) the just lower the hood. It will not latch because the latcby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

There are no oil coolers in any of the water-cooled Porsches (from the factory). There is a heat transfer unit (coolant-to-oil) which some call an oil cooler, but it's mostly an oil warmer for when the car is cold. The front radiator in the S's and Tiptronics is a standard coolant radiator. Happy Boxstering, Pedro]by Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Coolant is somewhat slippery but not oily. It does, however, have a peculiar odor (sweet). As Boxsterra says, power steering oil goes to the steering rack, up front between the front wheels. Pull the front tires off and check behind the brake rotor for any signs of fluid. There should be none. Finally brake fluid is kind of oily and is present at each corner of the car. There's n o correlation between transmission type and IMS failure rate. The failure of the IMS bearing solely depends on whether its seals fail or not. Those bearings with intact seals won't fail. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
